We were excited about trying out a Mexican food option we hadn’t been before and decided to test out this spot.
The reviews seemed okay and the pictures of their food looked good. We walked into an almost entirely empty restaurant (should’ve been our first red flag) and were greeted in a friendly manner (the staff were all friendly, so this review is not really an indictment of them).
The vibes and the interior design of the place are cool but everything else was very very plain. Our food was so bland, the chicken was super dry and so were the tacos. Even the chips and salsa were stale and lacked any real flavor. Nothing seemed fresh, it all tasted like it had been reheated.
I dont write many review but felt it was necessary for this spot. We had just such a meh, below average, dining experience. Probably wont be going back. Maybe just ordered the wrong things, I dont know, but I hope they figure it out. For the price, it was not worth it at all.

First time here, we had many folks recommend this place for good food and cocktails. We made reservations because we had a large party. The service was quick and friendly. We got some brunch items, cocktails, enjoyed the fresh tortillas made right in front of us by a tortillas machine along with different salsa. They have indoor and outdoor seating with lovey decor and
comfortable seating. There is a bar that holds maybe 12 people. We would love to come back and try more things on the menu. Check out their Wednesday specials $10 tacos for 3 and $6 margaritas. Food and service is always amazing.

Everyone from the host to the servers were awesome. The drinks are delicious, the food presentation is appetizing and colorful. The taste of the food is hearty, fresh, and tasteful. By far one of my FAVORITE places. The outside deck is sexy. You need to experience this place and this place needs to experience you. Their service is unmatched. The hostess truly set the tone. The waitress were relatable and fun conversationalist.

Very cute and trendy spot. Met some girlfriends out there for dinner. Free chips and salsa were good. I had the birria tacos, they were good but I’ve never had a “deconstructed” version lol, I definitely prefer them to come already put together but in any case still were delish. I had horchata for my drink and it was so delish and refreshing.

Maiz Agua has a lot of open space on the inside and outside to sit with your guest given you options. The decor makes you feel relaxed and compliments the food.
Jessica was our server for bunch she started us out with their complimentary chips and salsas, and it came with pickled cauliflower. Yummy! Fresh. I had the hibiscus mimosas it was nice they did have other options, too.
They make their corn tortillas in-house, which was really cool to see.
The food was really amazing, and the churros with sauce were unique with their own spin. I can’t wait to go back.

My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Charlotte! The elote was the best I’ve had in a long time. Everything tasted amazing, and you can tell the ingredients are super fresh. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, plus a nice outdoor area—perfect for warm days. The staff was really friendly, though the service felt a bit rushed. Overall, a great spot!

On a random Tuesday while out adulting, I decided to stop by Maiz Agua Sal for a late lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised. The decor is refreshing and modern, with the tree at the entrance being a standout design feature—it sets a great tone for the dining experience. We were seated immediately, and the service throughout was superb. Our waitress was delightful and very knowledgeable about the menu, making the experience even better.
The complimentary chips and salsa were a hit, and the peanut salsa was a pleasant surprise. Trust me, don’t knock it until you try it! The guacamole was incredibly fresh, and the tacos were delicious. Their 3 for $10 taco special is a great deal, and each one was packed with flavor. I also tried the Huarache De Tinga, which was absolutely delicious.
I almost forgot to mention the churros—a perfect way to end the meal! They were a sweet, satisfying treat that tied the whole experience together.
Although I was only there for lunch, I’m already planning to return to enjoy their drinks and check out the cool fire pit outside. Maiz Agua Sal is a fantastic spot for great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and exceptional service. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love this restaurant and it is truly a (hopefully not for long!) hidden gem on the West Side. They have an excellent selection of cocktails in addition to a robust menu for lunch, dinner, and brunch. The house-made tortillas and salsa brought to you at the start of the meal are only indicative of what’s to come—and in fact, the enchiladas de res is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The huevos rancheros (not pictured) are a delight. Portions are appropriate and the price for the quality of food cannot be beat.
I’ve only been during the day, but the atmosphere is beautiful. Comfortable seating, options to sit indoors or out, and warm ambience makes this a very special place indeed.

This was a FANTASTIC experience! Food and drinks was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful! This place is uniquely designed and has super cool vibes! Best frozen margarita and huevos rancheros I’ve ever had! I will definitely be back. Was very pleased to see diverse staff and that it seemed as if the food was prepared authentically, not to mention thoughtfully!
