Maison Sun is an intimate 8-seat tasting-menu restaurant in Brooklyn, centered around a stainless-steel chef’s counter and a restored Molteni stove.
Led by Chef Nancy Nguyen, whose background includes Eleven Madison Park, the restaurant brings together French technique and Vietnamese influence in a seasonal fine dining menu.
The experience is precise, personal, and quietly ambitious, with dishes shaped by exceptional ingredients, thoughtful restraint, and the energy of a live open kitchen.

Went speechless when the chief brought up a SINGLE WALMART candle for birthday celebration not even a macaroon, for a $185 USD per person dinner. Food was mediocre and very small portion, but the egg was rich and thic in flavor, silverwares choices are pretty tastey
edit: the chief also changed my original date from 4th to 6th and offered a complimentary glass of wine, which I did not receive. Also been to a lot of fine dining places and Michelins, have never received a candle as a “gesture” of celebration. It’s just hilarious watching you unpack a 7.99 USD Walmart candle from the 75 pack considering the set was almost 250 usd per person after tax and tip. I would’ve been happier without the candle

While everything from the food and service was okay, we felt the food was not elevated enough for what we paid for. The portions were so small that we did not leave satisfied. The ingredients, plating, flavors, and quantity can all use some more work from the chef. The chef worked alone to cook and prep for 7 diners, but the dishes came out too slow. My dinner date ordered a single glass of wine, but she only received the same amount of wine as the diners seated next to us who got wine pairings with their prix fixe dinners. We think the sommelier(?) (not sure if that was what he really was), subconsciously mistook her wine order with theirs when he was pouring, so she only got a third of a glass. We later discovered how much she should have gotten when another couple came in and ordered a single glass of wine, as well. Overall, while there was nothing terribly wrong with the food, wine, and service, the whole experience was not worth what they charged for it.

Thank you Maison Sun! We had a really nice time here for my birthday dinner. The food was excellent, kudos to Chef Nancy, and thanks to Carlos and John for the wonderful hospitality. The experience is pretty amazing and something very different than what you typically get in NYC — because there are only ~8 seats, it kind of feels like an intimate speakeasy dining experience with elevated and thoughtful approach to food/service. Excellent wine selections as well..
Highly recommend for a date, special occasion, private dinner with friends or even an elevated corporate experience for an intimate group. We will be back.
Oh and if you’re into NYC foodie / restaurant lore… Maison Sun is located in the original Chefs Table at Brooklyn Fare space (!!).

Had the most incredible dining experience at Maison Sun!
This month, I’ve visited Aquavit, Jean Georges, and Naro, but this was by far my favorite. Bringing in Chef Dai was a brilliant move—the fusion of Chinese, Korean, and other Asian flavors was absolutely outstanding. The creativity and execution were next-level, making this the best fine dining experience I’ve had all month!
It’s my third visit already, and it’s amazing to see Maison Sun evolve from a pop-up into such a remarkable dining destination. I can already see Michelin stars in its future. Thank you for an unforgettable night—can’t wait to come back!

Our experience at Maison Sun was incredible. The space is small and intimate, with an open kitchen where we can watch what’s happening, and chat with the chefs who were so down to earth. Each bite of food was a unique explosion of taste. They were VERY accommodating of my gluten-free diet. The owner was friendly, indulged us in any question we had, and shared stories of his journey to starting this incredible spot. Was so worth the cost.

I just experienced the most INCREDIBLE dinner at Maison Sun in Boerum Hill, and I’m literally still dreaming about it! This modern fine dining spot is where engineering meets culinary art!
Watching these culinary artists work their magic at the stainless steel counter next to a vintage Molteni stove is literally dinner and a show! Of course, this address is always a legend!
Highly recommended!!!

Very intimate restaurant with 10 seats. Great for a special occasion or date night. Loved the service and flexibility around wine tasting (ability to have a smaller sampling of premium wines for lowest tier pricing). Food was quite good in general but didn’t love some of the earlier courses. Dessert was excellent. Overall a good experience.
