We ordered several entrees for our group. ALL forms of the whitefish were fantastic! We had the sandwich as well as the basket special.
Our server said the whitefish was fresh caught this morning.
Burger was done perfectly. However, the poppers were too tough to bite through and we didn’t have a knife sharp enough to cut them. But they were tasty, cream cheese jalapeno poppers.

I’m from downstate and found this restaurant delightful. The extra crispy fries I ordered were perfect. More than that was the atmosphere. The locals were hilarious irreverent and unfiltered. Can’t wait to go back. The views were phenomenal and the town has an edge of the earth feel.

We’re full time rv travelers staying at paradise point for a bit. Needed to do laundry. So when we were done. We found this place to stop to eat. It’s a small, quaint little place. We ordered the chicken wings. Were cooked really good and crispy. Had another traveling couple that came in a few minutes after us and sat beside us. Had a really pleasent time speaking to them while we ate. Would come back here if in the area.

Very cute place on the outside, eclectic and interesting on the inside, but the best part is that their food, drinks, and service are amazing. They have a wide and excellent beer selection, and our friend was thrilled that they even made great strawberry daiquiris with cream on top. We had the potato soup, french onion soup, and the Mackinaw burger all were absolutely amazing!
We stopped in after arriving at the marina. We will definitely drop by DeTour Village again just so we can come back to this restaurant.

We had a morning breakfast, and I think we were the first customers to come in. The entrance opens into the bar, and as we sat someone came in and directed to sit in the back, a dining room down the hall. The decor is quaint, and reflects the harbor-town culture; fascinating to study while you wait. Photos of great lakes shipwrecks, characters and maps. Anyway, the food (omlette and the “rise and shine” were quite good. We saw a dinner menu on a chalk board that looked inspired and yummy (fried green beans!).
The quality is good, well made from basic sysco food stock and maybe some fresh local veggies. Coffee could be sourced better, but it’s not Robusta (or maybe it is a mix).
This place undoubtedly gets a good deal of the local night life (in Detour (say DEE-tour)) without the French affect), andnthey take they’re drinking seriously. They back of our waitron’s shirt proudly said, “hangovers, made to order.” We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

The whitefish sandwich is excellent! There are several good burger selections too.

I had the whitefish sandwich. It was made with never frozen whitefish. It was a generous portion. I had onion rings as a side and they were very good. The staff was friendly and efficient. The price okay. It wasn’t cheap but wasn’t outrageous. I would recommend this restaurant.

Loved the fresh fish but the grumpy service was hard to deal with after a long day of travel. I’m sorry that we each had to pay for our own dinner in a party of 5.

Food is great. Side salads are really good with lots of vegys. Whitefish is fresh and both broiled and fried are delicious. The server (owner) is a bit coarse. When asking for another beer you get “sure, when i have time”. When asking if they serve whitefish dinners or just whitefish sandwhiches you get, “yes. They are on the dinner menu. Dinner menus are given to people who sit in the back dining room, not here up front”. Well when you arent a regular, you dont know that. So a bit more kindness would make this an outstanding restaurant. If you are thin skinned, dont go. We will definitely be back.

Local small town UP diner with very friendly staff. Food was good and we were only ones in there for awhile when we were there. Local history in the walls. Nice for quick lunch in town.
