The lobster roll came out pretty drenched in butter — tasty, but heavy, and there wasn’t really an option to go lighter.
The spot itself has potential and the owner is super friendly, but the overall vibe could use a little more polish to match the hype.
After a shipping carrier mess up, Wayne was quick to fix the issue and ship a replacement. I value a company that is so responsive and accountable.
As for the dish itself it is a solid 5/5. Generously and professionally seasoned, soooo many shrimp, cheesy, creamy…everything you want in a restaurant quality dish you get to enjoy im the comfort of your home. I warmed it up stovetop medium low heat 15-17 mins. The two portions are each enough for two people or a very hungry me.
Also the shrimp are fresh caught which ive heard is better than the farm raised ones. And they def have a better taste. My one critique is if they could cut the salt by 10-25 percent id love it even more.
Since the delivery issue happened, I lost my ability to review on the other site so I am reviewing here.
It’s a small, no frills spot. The owner is super helpful and friendly. He’ll proudly tell you why his lobster roll is the best.
He uses claw meat which makes it sweeter. The pieces are very small, so it is loaded with meat. The popular rolls you see use giant chunks of meat, but with all of the space between them, this one actually has more meat even if it doesn’t seem like it. And lastly, he uses both butter and mayo on it.
I don’t think I’ll ever find a better lobster roll for the rest of my life. My husband claimed lobster rolls were overrated until we had this one. My only regret is that this was our second stop for food, so my husband and I shared one.
To top it all off, this was the cheapest meal we had in Maine. Most places will charge you at least $35-40 for anything that has lobster in it. I think we paid $20-$25 for our roll.
Whenever I’m in Maine, I will come here for another lobster roll, no matter how far out of my way I have to go.
