My girlfriend and I stumbled upon Maine Chick when we were visiting Bar Harbor in September and were happy we did. It’s tucked away in the heart of the downtown shopping district and is located approximately 2 or 3 blocks from the waterfront. Maine Chick’s menu has something for everyone’s taste buds. The chicken sandwiches & fries are phenomenal. I chose the Jerk chic sandwich w/maple brown sugar fries & slaw. My gf chose the buffalo chic sandwich w/apple brown sugar fries & mac n cheese. We were so full n happy that we stopped to give The Maine Chick a try.

I got a meal that came with tenders, fries, and a biscuit. I don’t remember the exact name of it. For breaded chicken, it was very light and it wasn’t too heavy a meal. I could tell the meat was fresh and high quality. The biscuit was dry, but it came with butter and was well seasoned which made it taste better. My sister got the grilled chicken option and she really enjoyed her meal. She said it was very refreshing.
It was one of the only places I could find in this area that wasn’t going to drain my wallet. Every food option is expensive in Bar Harbor, as a girl who doesn’t enjoy seafood I was very excited to see this restaurant when I was hiding from the rain.

Metered street parking (credit card and Park Mobile App) available in the area.
Main area of store has the registers, where you order and pay, and some tables and chairs there. You place your order and pay at the registers and take a number to your table. Once your food is ready, it will be taken to your table.
They have lots of better-than-fast food, fast food-like options, including chicken fingers, sandwiches, French fries and salads. They also offer a variety of dipping sauces, varying in heat and flavor.
We got some chicken fingers, French fries and a few drinks. Everything was good…but while the chicken itself was super-crunchy, it was lacking seasoning (basic salt and pepper). I know many sauced-chicken places typically under-season their chicken as the sauce will provide the desired flavor…not uncommon.
We opted to sit upstairs which had a ton of tables and chairs…much more space up there. There are even some outdoor tables on the balcony area.
Bathrooms were very clean.
All staff we encountered, included register and server staff, were friendly, informative and efficient.

This little restaurant was a great find in Bar Harbor. We wanted a break in seafood and picked one of the best places. All of our chicken sandwiches were the best we’d ever had and their fries….. boohoo! We each got a different style and flavor to try and don’t have a bad one! The atmosphere was great and there was ample seating. Nothing was bad. If we ever go back to Bar Harbor, we’ll definitely stop in here again.

I’d never go to a chicken place in Maine if not for my fried chicken & French fry loving son but am so glad we did. The chicken cordon blue sandwich was amazing! The chicken was juicy and perfectly portioned and the ham was layered, shaved ham with a slight char. My husband’s lobster roll got the blueberry chicken sandwich but we ended up splitting mine because it was so good – but he also finished his too. The 10 year old gave it two thumbs up. Fries were very good too. A fun spot when you’re wanting something other than seafood in Bar Harbor

I don’t give a lot of 5 stars but this place is 5 stars! Amazing chicken sandwiches. We got the blueberry one and the maple one, both were delights (although I think blueberry was my fav). Chicken was crisp on the outside and super tender and moist inside, no weird chewy or lumpy bits. The sides totally stood up to the sandwich. The atmosphere was adorable as well. They have plenty of seating and a covered terrace. Service was quick. Restrooms are updated and clean. We are still thinking about those sandwiches . I would have taken more and better photos but we couldn’t wait to dig in!

My Maple Buffalo Chick sandwich was amazing! Incredibly flavorful and the perfect size for a big eater like myself.
The staff was super friendly, were able to answer questions and clarify all the variety of choices available.
The chicken nuggets (aka kids meal for us) is huge! Ten nuggets will be too much for little kids; as each nugget is the size of a slider burger.
10/10, would definitely come here again!

Seriously, the best, we went once and kept coming back. Kids and adults alike agree this chicken is tender, juicy, perfectly crispy, and full of flavor. The atmosphere is chic, comfortable, and full of great decor. The restrooms are clean and funny. The staff is super friendly, prompt, and on top of their game. You must go and enjoy!

A great, quick chicken sandwich option that is very reasonable. We had the jerk chicken sandwich, chicken tenders & chicken nuggets. My husband said jerk sandwich was tasty, but began to fall apart about halfway through. My kids enjoyed their chicken nuggets and I liked the tenders – they weren’t heavily breaded. We also had their standard chicken dipping sauce, which was a honey mustard along with their peach dipping sauce (it was good, but super spicy!). My husband and I both thought of this place as a better version of Popeye’s.

As a regular customer that order every week, I decided to order for the last time cause I heard it’s their last day today. I ordered my usual which is a 5 Chicken Tenders with Chick Sauce and additional Sauce. I ended up receiving a soggy fries and old reheated chicken tenders that is so bland it wasn’t the same taste like I had before, they also forgot to add the additional sauce on it and also forgot to put the butter for the biscuit. It’s really disappointing cause it’s my favorite treat every weekend.
I only realize that it was incomplete when I got home.
