I had the best rye toast here with my skillet breakfast, which was also awesome! My hubby ordered corned beef hash with sliced tomato and eggs. Our son ordered what else, but a breakfast burrito with sausage. Everything was delicious and I mean memorably delicious!
It’s not a huge place, just big enough.
There was an unfortunate incident, where an out of town group waltzed in at peak time demanding a table for 9 or 10 and proceeded to show his @$$ . Very unfortunate for everyone else there with families having to witness his behaviors and language.
So, here’s a note for travelers, if you are traveling with a large group of people, don’t walk into restaurants at peak time and expect a table to be ready and waiting for you! Above all, have some self-respect , if not for yourself, at least show some respect for others.
Make it a good deed day, always leave it in better shape than you found it!

I was with a pretty cool group of hippies from Austin and they all wanted to share their food and initially I was like no I’m greedy now but they had numbered me so I did. I am so glad I did. The portions are so massive and they’re really reasonably price each one being less than $20 for how much food you get.
Our server Kelly was great. We ordered the lemon poppy pancake, she had us this place is famous for its Benedict’s and I see why. We ordered the blue sky and it was phenomenal, we had the veggie juevos rancheros which tasted surprisingly Texans/SWern, and the lemon poppy seed pancake. Honestly the vibes are good, the food is good and I would recommend you come here
We were seated immediately and greeted promptly by Lottie. The customer service throughout the meal was Michelin star worthy. Friendly, welcoming, answered questions, provided suggestions, returned frequently to check in. Perfect customer service experience. We were made to feel like regulars.
A couple of us had Bloody Mary’s, which were delicious and well adorned with accoutrements including bacon (on one) which was fantastic. We also had a few coffees which were hot and fresh, no complaints whatsoever.
Meals ranged from corned beef hash (delicious and balanced), to green chile (perfectly seasoned), to breakfast sandwich (good size if looking for a smaller meal), to fruit topped french toast (incredible texture, rich flavor and not overly sweet, great suggestion to use the house-made cinnamon bread). All of the food was really good with generous portion sizes. The fresh breads being used make a difference, whether toast, sandwich, or french toast. Get that side of bacon if you can!
We will definitely return whenever headed through Idaho Springs in the morning/early afternoon.
Thanks for a great experience!
Although I live quite a ways away, near Boulder, we were visiting and had lunch at this sweet, cozy, home-cooked restaurant.
Although we were told the food was really outstanding, we had to eat it to believe it and believe it we do.
The bread alone is outrageously, wholesome, healthy and delicious.
Each of our dishes were different: two of us had sandwiches and the other two had brunch with eggs.
Honestly, with food that amazing and homemade and the service, friendly and warm, I would frequent this place as well if I lived in Idaho Springs.
My eggs benni was outta this world and Kelly helped me pick the cinnamon fresh bread. Absolutely
Thanks and be back asap!!
