I was super impressed. There are new owners so I was nervous. The food is so good. They pulled out the dough and made it fresh. Lots of toppings. The cheese bread is epic. The cinnamon bread came with frosting. It was all so yummy.

We got some cheese sticks from Main Street Pizza today, and were pleased with our service. The new owners were kind and helpful! They said they are going to start offering delivery, which will be a great service for Salem! Excited to see them back in business!

Our family has supported Main Street Pizza from the time we moved here nearly two years ago. We are big proponents of supporting local business. I sincerely wish I didn’t feel my only option was writing a poor review.

I called Main Street Pizza today to ask for the owners email so I could write them personally. I was 100% positive they would not be pleased with their management of the pizzas going out.

The manager working when I got my pizza today at 3:30pm (2/25/22) said that they didn’t have the owners email or phone number or any contact information and they said I couldn’t meet them in person because when the owner comes is sporadic. Okay. Next line of help:

I tried communicating with the manager why I wanted to support them as a local business and why I was disappointed in 90% of our orders with them. We have a very simple order. He challenged every one of my issues with excuses.

Here is my request: one cheese pizza and one crispy bacon & pepperoni pizza. One gluten free cheese pizza. Cook them well done. If the toppings are sparse, I want extra toppings and I’m great paying for that.

That’s it. That’s the order.

We are a potential $50-$60 a week customer. Not much, but we buy pizza every Friday. Each time I order from Main Street I ask for our pizza to be left in the oven until it’s well done. I have yet to get that request fulfilled. The manager told me cooking well done pizza isn’t always possible since they might be busy and need to get the pizzas out. That’s not a problem for Two Jacks pizza down the road…additionally, I placed my order at 3:30pm at a low traffic time of day. At the time we picked our pizza up today, we were the only pizza being prepared.

Also, Main Street Pizza goes very light on the amount of toppings they give. That’s fine I can work around that by ordering extra of everything. Today I ordered “extra sauce, extra cheese, and extra toppings”. As fate would have it, yet again, not only did they leave out one of the toppings (crispy bacon), from the photo below you can see they put the pepperoni UNDER the cheese which leaves the pepperoni soggy and uncooked. Our family joked that we should require one of the staff to eat one slice of their pizza and see if they can stomach what they made.

Additionally the pizza crust is soggy on the bottom (not well done).

Lastly, the metal pizza tray it was cooked on was not removed but placed in the pizza box.

I really want to support local!

I want our business owners to know we want them to stay!

Sadly, I can’t continue to throw away money so I’m taking my business to Two Jacks down the road. I really hope this review initiates a conversation with someone who can change things so I can remove it and not have to leave it up. I don’t want local businesses to lose customers.

The photos below is the crispy bacon & pepperoni pizza. Though you can’t see the pepperoni under the cheese or the crispy bacon (not included), you get the gist.

There pizza was alright but their bread sticks was burnt and hard. They were also quite hostile when I was confused on payment.

I have been here before and had great pizza and salads. Im a huge fan of the gluton free pizza. The service was always okay. The price was great. I phoned in an order for delivery. I got a gluton free pizza and a salad, I added a 5 dollar tip.. I called at 730 and they said it would be an hour. An hour later a nice young man delivered my food. When i opened it. The pizza was scrambled and the toppings were stuck to the top of the box. I could eat it, but i wouldnt serve it to a person. I called and they said the guy was new and theyd make me a new one. I declined to wait another hour. It wouldve been more helpful if I couldve had an instore credit for the tip or the pizza and the tip.

We were so excited to see that Main Street had reopened, but were disappointed. The pizza wasn’t bad, however it had tons of massive clusters of onion and at the price point I would have expected better flavor. I miss the old recipes. I would still eat from here if it were offered to me.

The person I ordered over the phone with, while they were not rude, they were very straight to the point and just lacked the friendliness I’m used to in this small town.

Overall I don’t plan on going back.

I understand this is newly opened, he was open for maybe 48 hours at the point that we decided to order pizza! And I will say the pizza is amazing…. Normal pizza always tends to upset my stomach, but this newly reowned pizza parlor was exceptional! Exceptional! The pizza dough was phenomenal… It definitely was an upgrade from what I was used to and I really loved main Street Pizza before it shut down. I will definitely be going back!

Unfortunately, the person I spoke with is really not customer service oriented… I was trying to set up some pizzas and wings for my youth basketball team… I really couldn’t get a straight answer and it was very disconcerting… I wanted to support a local business, but it did not give me confidence to speak to this gentleman… And apparently no manager was available.

The person who picks up the phone should be a good reflection of your business.

UPDATE: within 30 minutes of posting this review I had a very gracious callback from Will, the owner or manager, addressing my concern. He totally understood my issue and we had a very pleasant conversation. I have no doubt that the food is extremely good and I believe that this business, under new management, will flourish with this type of client connection… there are many of us that want to support local businesses. Thanks for calling Will…
