my wife and I heard about this place opening up and decided to check it out. It was a really nice surprise. The Grand Central bakery was wonderful, we bought bread and pastries to take home, They were delicious. Nice place to sit and have coffee or get something to go.
The other great find there is the Backwoods Brewery. They have a nice seating area downstairs with a nice menu and full bar.They have a nice selection of starters, bugers, sandwiches and a few entrees. Something for everyone. But the best part is the rooftop bar. Large and spacious. I am sure when the nice weather comes back the rooftop will be packed. Right now they have enclosed seating with heater that is very comfortable.
The one thing we didn’t get to was sizzle Pie. We have been to other locations and love their pizza.
Looking forward to going back to Main St Commons soon. Definitely worth checking out.

The company that this building owner uses to monitor the parking lot is a predatory bully. They are no clear signs of how to pay for parking, they have countless complaints with the BBB and they are very dismissive and borderline rude to people writing on the website. To the building owner, you should rethink your partnership with this predatory business, DO BETTER, BE BETTER for the people that want to support the local business located here.

Such a great addition to Downtown Hillsboro! Whether you’re new to the area or returning, you’ll have to try these new restaurants. Park on the street or one of the nearby free lots — be sure to look for parking signage, as it’s all managed by each lot’s owners. City signage is limited to streets and the 1st & Washington garage.

I parked in the lot that said free parking for Main Street Commons and 2 weeks later I got a bill for $265. They said it was only one side of the parking lot not the whole thing. Nowhere did it say this on any sign. Will never patronize business in that building again

Wonderful place to hang out on a sunny day. Overlooking downtown Hillsboro over the backing upstairs you get a nice view of the town.
