Stopped in for lunch with my son today.
Food – my son got the burger and potato wedges and I got the blackened tuna sandwich. The burger looked good and he said it was fine but the potato wedges were completely unseasoned and cold. The tuna on my sandwich was good and well seasoned — once I scraped off the sauce which tasted like watered down mayo, was totally unnecessary, and completely ruined an otherwise delicious avocado slice. The sandwich was also not very large. It was about the size of a large slider but for some reason it was cut in half and each half was skewered with a steak knife. Had to take it apart to eat it which made it not a sandwich.
Service – the host and server made it clear that they were doing everyone in the restaurant a huge favor by interacting with them. Not sure if they were going for an aloof haute cuisine vibe but they sure nailed the aloof part. We were one of 3 tables in there and it took almost an hour to get 2 sandwiches. Then it took forever to get the check which the server blamed on tech issues when in fact she was busily chatting with another patron for an extended period of time.
Atmosphere – this place would be cute if it had proper lighting but I see that they had a rodent issue recently so perhaps the dim lighting is hiding something.
For the price you could go just about anywhere else in Sykesville and do a lot better.

First time at Main Street Bistro, now I wonder why it took so long. Brought a friend and we agreed that this restaurant is now on our circuit to bring friends. Keith’s food is terrific, we each had soup as a starter, warmed perfectly (I like hot soup, not lukewarm) was seasoned properly and tasted delicious. We split the brisket sandwich with zesty coleslaw. The brisket was moist and flavorful, the coleslaw was a nice counter to the richness of the brisket. The atmosphere was minimalistic, eclectic and unpretentious. Don’t be fooled, this has serious food and reminds me of other places I’ve eaten that spend more time preparing the food than updating the decor. Bravo!

We have visited the Bistro a number of times and this was our best thus far. The four of us ordered bulgogi, Mongolian beef, drunken noodles, and shrimp wrap. The sides were appropriate and a special shout out on the German potato salad. We all enjoyed our meals and felt portions were good. The mixed drinks were well done and priced better than many other Carroll Co establishments. We had started with Brie tapas which was tasty. The space seems “tight” although this should be expected for town and city pubs. Decorating was a bit lacking but the Bistro does well with the space. Staff were all attentive and friendly. Overall, this is a good add to Sykesville!

I ordered pork belly drunken noodles and chicken drunken noodles. The flavor was off the chart I can’t wait to order again. Main Street hidden gem

This is a great local place with a friendly atmosphere and delicious food. The scallops and shrimp were cooked to perfection, with a nice spiciness, and the pizzas were not greasy, the dough was soft but with a slightly crispy edge. The chef did a great job, thank you very much! Highly recommend and hope I’ll return to try another dishes!
Also this is a dog friendly place.

We tried 7556 Main Street Bistro for the first time on 10/3 and we were extremely pleased with our meals. The reason we chose this particular evening was one of their weekend specials, Sour Beef & Dumplings. It was amazing. Tender chunks of beef with a delicious gravy with a hint of gingersnap. And the dumplings were spot on in texture and flavor! We did not understand why a dollop of mash potatoes was included (and it baffled our server as well) as it was not needed with the meal. Daddy would definitely have given this dinner 2 thumbs up!

Main Street Bistro is a cozy, welcoming spot right on historic Main Street in Sykesville. Street parking or the free larger municipal parking lot entered from Oklahoma Ave. a short distance away.
Despite being the only server on duty, service was quick, polite, and helpful. The menu is concise but filled with tempting, creative options, and they’re open for lunch, dinner, and Jazz Brunch
We had the Smoked Beef Brisket Philly and the German potato side salad—and the Sloppy Goodness, a delicious moist lamb burger topped with a non-traditional French onion soup with melted Provolone on a Brioche bun. My broccoli slaw was tasty as well. There were no leftovers behind. We had hoped to share a chocolate mousse, but it was sold out—just another reason to come back.
The Bistro also offers two private rooms for small gatherings. Overall, it’s a charming spot for a relaxed, unhurried meal and conversation.

Brunch here is fantastic! Their hot honey chicken hash is a fantastic combination of flavors and textures. And their blueberry pancakes are truly a step above. You will love them.

My experience here was rather interesting. The place has a nice ambiance and we got sat next to the window which my man and I loved. However when the waitress came we were asking about what she recommended..she just said that things were good and when I asked for customer favorites she didn’t have a real answer. We ended up ordering the lamb burger and special which was seafood pasta-shrimp, scallops, lobster, and crabmeat. When our food arrived our server didn’t come back to check on us. My boyfriend did not like his lamb burger. I tried the pasta and liked it but I came across a cold piece of lobster- like it was sitting on ice then put in the pasta. I took the lobster out and spit out a piece I chewed and put it on a separate plate. With the waitress not coming back, my boyfriend was hungry and just decided to eat the pasta instead. I tried his lamb burger and it was not good to me either. The manager came back and she said best thing we could do was 10% off or a dessert since my boyfriend ate it. Well since the waitress took at least ten minutes and we were starving we had to eat. There was no apology for the lobster and they acted like they didn’t believe me- I told them to feel it as it was ice cold but they didn’t care it seemed. Will not be back…

First time visiting. Got busy relatively quickly after we arrived and it’s a smaller location so seating is limited. Lots of gluten free options which was nice. Ordered the blackberry smash cocktail with gin which I enjoyed. Tried the cream of crab soup for an appetizer. While it was delicious, it was not hot enough. It was also served with an Asian soup spoon which was unexpected? Not sure why. Had the beet salad first and while the flavor was good it was deconstructed basically which wasn’t ideal for me so I probably wouldn’t order it again. Really enjoyed the margherita pizza though. Was my favorite part of the meal! I would return again to try other things in future.
