This restaurant is phenomenal!! We were so shocked at the quality of the food and the excellent service. We were not expecting much from restaurants in this little town, and were pretty much expecting something on par with IHOP. However, when they brought out the food, we were so impressed with the taste and presentation. It honestly can compare to a lot of the higher end restaurants we’ve been to in Houston but this place tasted even better. Definitely a 10 out of 10!

My husband and I went on a Thursday night and were seated immediately with no wait. We both ordered the 3-course meal.
I started with the Caesar salad, which had cool, crisp lettuce with no soggy leaves in sight. For my entrée, I got the shrimp scampi. It was bright, flavorful, and more sophisticated than the usual heavy, overly buttery, weirdly greasy cheesy versions I’ve had at other restaurants. The garlic-butter-lemon sauce was balanced, and the dish came with six large shrimp and a portion of rice. It was the perfect amount for a single meal, though it didn’t make leftovers.
My husband ordered the Andouille & Blackened Chicken Pasta. It was creamy, spicy, and very filling. He had enough to take some home for later.
For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake and the crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was phenomenal. The caramelized sugar crust paired perfectly with the creamy custard. We originally wanted to try the tiramisu, but they were out (which honestly told us it must be a popular and worthwhile pick). The cheesecake was also delightful.
Service and atmosphere were excellent.
The hostess was extremely welcoming, opened the doors for us as we left, and kept our water glasses full throughout the meal. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant itself had cozy vibes, soft lighting, and a live saxophone player playing light Christmas music, which added a really nice touch.
One thing I want to highlight is how much Main 101 pays attention to detail. They could easily plate basic desserts and call it a day, but instead they added thoughtful touches like powdered sugar and a strawberry cut into a rose on a dollop of whipped cream. When my husband mentioned taking his leftover pasta to go, the server boxed it for him without hesitation. Small things like that really show the care they put into their service and presentation.
Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back—especially to try the tiramisu.

I looked this place up along with another restaurant and I chose this one between the two. And I’m hella glad I did! From the moment I walked in the outer doors to the inner restaurant door, I was greeted warmly with a huge smile from the hostess. I sat at the bar and the Bar Tender, who was in training I believe, was hella nice and attentive. The Manager even came out and greeted each guest one by one. Taking time to really chat with us. The food, of which I wish I had taken a picture of, was perfect! I ordered the File Mignon with Broccolini and Oven Roasted Finger Potatoes. For dessert I ordered the Crème Brûlée. I really enjoyed myself. As a truck driver, I look for special locations to eat when I’m treating myself and I’m extremely glad I chose this place. Totally worth the mile walk from the truck stop. I definitely will be back next time I’m in La Porte. Looking forward to trying some other entree’s that peaked my interest. Thanks for the great experience

We arrived at the restaurant and ww were immediately seated at the table, the restaurant was not busy about 10 occupied tables about 6 people at the bar and 4 servers plus a woman in sandals and sleeveless blouse serving tables. 5 mins to get our drinks, no biggie right? Almost 20 mins go by and our server never went back to take our order he and the the woman in sandals passed us by several times, until I got frustrated and asked the woman in sandals for the check she didn’t even ask if we had been helped at all or why we were leaving, she then tells our server to get our check he brings our check and says he was sorry, not even asked to take our order, the woman didn’t even offer to take our order either like wow really? We were dressed in jeans and T shirts, decent like you wouldn’t take our order because how we were dressed, mind you the restaurant is nice but the majority of patrons were under dressed. I mean the woman in sandals was not better dressed I guess she is the owner? Either way there was no excuse for them not taking our order. We were respectful until they had us wait almost 20 mins. Never again. Well spend our money elsewhere. This place is not worth it, there are better places than this. I guess they assumed that we couldn’t pay for our meal? I’ve never felt discriminated just because of the way we were dressed!

This restaurant strikes the perfect balance between elegant and approachable. The candlelit tables and live music create a beautiful ambiance, and the food absolutely delivered. It feels like an upscale dining experience without the steep prices. A lovely spot for a special night out.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was delicious. Our server, Raquel made the day even more special. The flounder feature & pan seared chicken were amazing. As well as the deviled eggs and bread pudding. You must eat here!

Main 101 Bar is the kind of place you stumble upon once and keep coming back to. Cozy vibes, great service, and an impressive menu. But what truly sets it apart is Joe — the culinary wizard behind the scenes.
Whether you’re ordering off the menu or feeling adventurous, just ask Joe to whip up something special — he can literally cook any recipe you throw at him. I tried a custom dish and was blown away. You can tell he cooks with both skill and soul.
If you’re ever in La Porte, don’t miss this spot. Come hungry and say hi to Joe — your taste buds will thank you!

The food was great! I ordered the soup of the day which was a squash soup and Cesar salad. The soup was delicious and creamy. It was a tad bit salty nonetheless tasty. The Cesar salad was good. My friend had the shrimp poboy and it was a fairly large portion, and my sister in law had the shrimp wraps. It was wrapped in a crepe with cabbage and lettuce and it had a nice dressing on it. The service was good started a little slow but they were attentive. The owner/ mgr came to speak with us and it he was very pleasant. All in all, it was a great dining experience. We came for lunch but I know the dinner is also very good.

The hostess opened the door for us to enter and happily greeted us. We were sat and immediately had our drink orders taken. The atmosphere is soft and quiet, in a good way. The lighting isn’t blinding and gives a nice ambiance to the place. We were served fresh bread and herb butter. We ordered the pork belly as an appetizer, which was a delicious flavor combination. I ordered the filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly and melted in the mouth! This entire experience was pleasant and I will definitely be back!
