Casual atmosphere and menu is large so everyone can get what they want from chicken wings, spring rolls, pad thai noodles, salad and 3 curry sauces. The mango sticky rice dessert is delicious. The curry sauce is tasty, but wish there were more chicken and vegetables in the dish. Liked that there was jasmine, sticky and brown rice selections.

The bar area was very busy and restaurant is pretty loud but you can still talk.

Happy hour menu selection and prices are good.

Malie’s Thai Bistro is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, cozy, and welcoming — like you’re about to enjoy a home-cooked meal in Thailand.

The flavors are incredible. Every bite tastes fresh, balanced, and beautifully seasoned. The creamy coconut soup was rich yet light, packed with mushrooms and herbs, and perfectly comforting without being heavy. You can really taste the quality ingredients and care in the cooking.

Service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind — they make you feel like a regular even on your first visit.

If you love authentic Thai food with heart, this place is a must. I will definitely be coming back again and again!

There is no other place like Maile’s Thai on O’ahu.. They have good food..like good food. There is Thai food and then there is THAI FOOD. Few places that can compete. They have a well equipped bar and nice people. And an atmosphere that is modern and pleasant. I have been to at least 10 other Thai places on O’ahu, and this place always keep me coming back. I am from Las Vegas and this is the only Thai restaurant that I could imagine surviving the strip. Worth the visit. They have spice challenges that will make your mouth regret itself.

Some of the best tasting rhai food around. Prices are a little steep, but for the quality and service, it was worth it. Chicken wings were good and not overdone. The wonton soup with bacon flavor was awesome. And the glass noodle salad had a lot of flavor. Portions were great for the price also. There are not too many thai restaurants on this side of the island, so it’s definitely worth going here if you’re looking for good Thai food.

Maile’s used to be the place to go for Thai food, and maybe it still is. However, my last few DoorDash experiences have been less than stellar. Most recently, I ordered Pad Kee Mao with extra chicken. First off, there was not extra chicken. The noodles outnumbered the chicken by a mile, I think there was maybe 1/4 of a breast worth of meat. The noodles looked like the cook was mad at them. They were broken and way overcooked, almost to the point of mush. There was hardly any flavor in the dish, and the basil was nowhere to be found. I even asked for it hot, and there was next to no spice in it at all.

It definitely seems like they treat DoorDash orders like they don’t care. They didn’t even include chopsticks or napkins. Maile’s has definitely dropped the ball as of late, and I would consider other options like Thai Valley Cuisine in Kalama Valley. They’re not the friendliest, but they cook like they care.

This place totally surprised me in an amazing way. I heard great things from other locals and I love authentic Thai food. I know how epic it can truly be, but don’t ever expect a game changer when I try new places. This place doesn’t just change the game… it’s got its own. It’s so, so, so unassuming… everything we had was incredible. They do a caprese that puts Italian restaurants to shame. The fried chicken appetizer… just wow! That sauce… I need it in my pantry. The service was awesome… it was busy and they had some less then desirable customers and were handling all of it with total grace. Definitely try this place, you won’t be sorry. And please do be extra kind to everyone working there

Thanksgiving Eve 2025: Had to make a Costco run so we came here for lunch. Green Papaya Salad (3 stars) with 5 pieces of green long bean and several grape tomato halves; Spring rolls (3 stars) with lots of fried crunch but not much filling and witty/browning pieces of mint; Penang curry ordered medium spicy delivered mild spicy with slivers of beef (3 stars) and way more sauce than featured veg/meat; Shrimp pad Thai (4 stars) with the best flavoring and generous shrimp serving, the less fresh looking pieces of bean sprout hold me back from giving this a 5. Service was friendly and attentive. Bathroom/storage area corridor make this place feel less inviting.
⏰5 years ago: Felt like having some Thai so we ventured to the east side. We got the green papaya and long rice salads and shared a red curry and pad thai. The green papaya salad was shredded fine and included some crunchy green bean and tomato slices and included ground peanut topping on the side. The long rice salad reminded me of a spicier, tangier thinner chicken long rice. I was surprised it came out warm. The red curry sauce was pleasantly spiced and oh so creamy and lovely over jasmine or sticky rice. The pad thai was one of the best I’ve ever had. The texture of the noodle and veggie toppings were so nicely balanced. We mixed ours up before digging in.

The older woman that wears dressy clothes & heels (not sure if she’s the manager) is *incredibly* rude everytime we’ve come here. She has zero people skills and is not suited for a position dealing with customers what so ever. Horrible service and prices are too expensive for the quality of food you get here.

Love the food; unfortunately today’s take out was not 5 star overall. 1 order Pad Siew-my favorite. Can you cut the Look Fun uniformly or is that too much trouble? $22. Big fat noodles and my pet peeve – Most restaurants do not peel the exterior skin from broccoli. Am I the only one?! For the first time at this restaurant I was disappointed. Shucks
