Good atmosphere. Inauthentic Amish I’m sure. Chicken sandwiches 8/10, but great value. Pie was the best thing.

My husband and I stopped in for an early supper before heading home and the Maid-Rites hit the spot! The Meat was hot and plentiful between very fresh buns! The fries were cooked to a perfect crispness and nicely seasoned! I found the staff very friendly and the place was spotless! We will definitely stop in again when our travels take us south again!

Food is bland and the chilly fries were watered down by water on the bottom. The fried pickles and malt was good though.

The cashier and the waitstaff were friendly and quick with our food. The chicken dinner I ordered was good, but the chicken in the chicken salad my wife ordered was a bit dry. Overall, I had a satisfactory experience.

Great food – lots of options, too many to choose from! Would come back when in the areas. Attached to the Amish Country Store which is a cool experience.

The pork tenderloin meal was HUGE. Very filling and fed two of us. The original Maid Rite sandwich was okay, definitely needed some more toppings and condiments but the meat was still seasoned well. Just kinda meh. They had several different options of more ‘sophisticated’ sandwiches so it was my bad with going with the plain one. I would still highly recommended coming here to experience this Iowa gem.

The food was sub-par. No real flavor. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. The store had some nice Amish pieces but also lots of China made Knick knack. Maybe 90% China made and 10% Amish made. So it should be called the Chinese Amish store. There were actual Amish people there which was cool.

If you love that Northern Midwestern staple of a maid rite (1926), this is a great place to stop. I drive from Southern Missouri up to visit my mom in Minneapolis every Thanksgiving and or Christmas and I can’t wait to get out of the top of Missouri and pull off exit 4 of Iowa on I-35 and have a delicious loose meat sandwich and onion rings at this place. Country store vibes dog play cage out front if you’re traveling with your dogs. Come and go gas station right there. Just a great place to have a reset on travels

We were hoping for a quintessential American diner experience, and I suppose we succeeded, as it was a mixed bag of good and mediocre. First of all, the counter service was great. The young man was extremely polite and good at his job. Our lunches came out fast, too, in about 10 minutes. My husband and son had chicken tenders and fries, with cheese on my son’s fries. They thought it was just okay. My grilled chicken wrap was mostly good, the chicken especially, but there was a black-mottled lettuce leaf and some of the chopped onion pieces were size of my thumbnail. I didn’t eat those. Most tragic of all, the cheese curd dish was very small for $6 and they weren’t quite hot enough, so they were dense with no pull or squeak. While the adjoining store and bakery looked interesting, we have zero interest in stopping at a Maid-Rite again.

I got the tenderloin two days in a row; first time dine in, second time take out. Both times it was crispy and delicious and so big I had to double it over. Chicken tenders and sides were delicious too
