I’m an owner of a Thai restaurant in Boston, who also cooked Thai food, been to Thailand, and have tried Thai food all over the United States, and this wasn’t it.

I called to ordered pick up and they had no idea what papaya salad was. That was a red flag for me. I ordered anyway because this was the closest Thai restaurant to my friend’s house. I ordered larb, pad thai, pineapple fried rice, and chicken wings.

Larb was lack of citrus flavor. The pork was not stirred fried enough. Had an after taste. Pad thai was eatable, not great. Not enough sweetness on the noodles. Fried rice was terrible. It was very soggy. When cooking fry rice, you have to cook the white rice a certain way and the rice should rest in the fridge before frying it. There were no pineapple flavored. Just alot of soy sauce. Never use soy sauce to cook pineapple fry rice. Chinese fry rice, yes for soy sauce. Chicken wings were un eatable. Rock hard. Cooked in the fryer way too long and the oil was old.

On top of that, I paid for 2 orders of chicken wings, but they only gave me 1 order. Not that I will eat them, but I did paid for it. I manage to fixed the larb, but threw away the rest of the food.

In response to your answer about my review. What I was saying are not based on preference. When you forgot 1 of my order is not preference. I paid for 2 chicken wing orders but got only 1. It was a takeout order. I didn’t check. I found out was when I got home.

Cooking with old oil is not preference. On top of that, chicken wings were too hard from overcook. That’s not preference.

As far as preference goes, the flavor of your food was the only thing that you can say was a preference.

As one owner to another, you only concentrate about the papaya salad and commented on that and preference. You didn’t address about a missing order, nor did you give an explanation that would support the way you cook. If you really know Thai or Laos food, papaya salad is one of the most popular dishes. You can say “not many people order it, there we do not have it on the menu.”

When something like this happened at my establishments, I look at the review. See if this person knows what they’re saying. If my staff forgot something, it is on me. Not my staff. And I would apologize to that customer and tell that customer to come back again and we will give them 50% off the tab. Everyone makes mistakes, but in restaurant business, we must take full responsibility, even if you didn’t make that mistake yourself. As a leader and owner, you hire your staff. And importantly, you must not get angry at your staff for making this mistake. Just let them know things happens. People forget. Just try to remember next time. When you take full responsibility, your staff will appreciate you greatly and they will enjoy working at your establishment.

They claimed on the front page of their menu to be the first Thai cuisine in Augusta and they didn’t disappoint. The food tasted at a level I have had Thai food in Asia before. So that’s a good thing. The service was ok. We went on a Friday evening right after they opened at 1700. They were not busy for dine-in, but there were a number of take-out orders during the time we were there. That’s the reason why it took them a solid 30mn for our food to come out. Other than that, it’s a solid place all around. I will have to check out other Thai places in the area to compare, whether the first Thai cuisine in Augusta could also be the best Thai cuisine in Augusta.

MainThai is the only place we go for Thai food. We stumbled on it when we moved here and have gone back many times. It’s quaint and unassuming and the food is delicious. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. They have a full menu that guarantees you’ll find something you love.

Mai Thai is one of the restaurants we take out of town friends to and they always enjoy it.

Grilled beef salad was excellent, one of the best. Flavors & aroma so good. Mixed seafood was very good, especially the squid, and sweet & salty sauce. Soup & green curry was average. Large portions & very reasonable prices. 2 thumbs up.

The Pad Thai dish at this restaurant is fantastic. The dish was a delightful blend of flavors with a lot of heat, as I requested. If you’re a fan of extra spicy food, don’t hesitate to ask for the extra spicy version not listed on the menu.

I got the most spicy version available of the lunch pad Thai. The lunch special is particularly impressive not just for its taste but also for its value. It is priced reasonably and comes with a generous portion. After trying a few other Thai restaurants in Augusta, this place really stands out. Sadly, I had a lot of disappointing Pad Thai, so I am aware of the different ways this dish can be messed up. Issues relating to too much fish sauce, almost zero spice, being too being dry, disappointing Pad Thai sauce, etc, are probably the most common.

Fortunately, this place had none of these problems! This place is one of the few that stands out in my memory of doing a great job with getting the flavor right while still being quite spicy. Overall, this place was remarkable.

This place used to be really good ….. I don’t know if there is a new ownership but last week I made a stop in Augusta so I can enjoy this place however was a big disappointment… Tom Yum Soup was really bad and week on flavor, my entree also was a mess they used to do the things way better in the past, spicy tray was empty, and very dirty…

This seems like a family run place. Very nice and cozy. Please be kind as this isn’t a fast food place so you food can take time to prep. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai very spicy. I don’t think they believed me lol. I love spicy and could have been just a tad more but still good. I had the lunch special to go so I received a spring roll. The spring roll was really good! I would have liked a bit more for portion size but I think everything and everyone is utilizing smaller portions. Overall great would come back to try my other Thai favs.

The staff is courteous and kind. I came here years ago and the food was great. I would say it’s okay now. Noodles, I didn’t like. The carrots, a little too much bite. Sauce was great because I got thai spice level. Chicken very good. Something has changed but what doesn’t after years. I come into the CSRA area on occasion and this is what I felt like today. I give 3.5 for food. I’m going home satiated.

Pulled me in from the scent of their kitchen as I was walking by.

Came out piping hot and fresh.
Very generous with the portions!

Dish is the Pad Thai with chicken – extra spice thanks to another reviewer mentioning you can ask for that.

I’d only recommend they expand their choice of music played in the restaurant – I already hear Billie Joel and Maroon 5 everywhere I go, haha.

It has been a couple of years since I ate this restaurant. Always got the red curry chicken to go after my doctor’s appointment. It always was amazing! Today I treated my friend to lunch and she checked the menu and ordered the Pad Thai chicken and I ordered my past favorite red curry. We waited quite a bit about 15 minutes and then we got our dishes served to us by our waiter. I started eating and I said well where is my rice that goes with three encourage chicken. Then I looked at her plate and I said “Your plate looks like my red curry chicken and this this doesn’t look like red curry chicken.” I got the waiter’s attention and he came by and let me know. I had the pad Thai and she had the Red curry. He had put the wrong dish to the wrong person. So he said he could redo it but we’d already waited 15 minutes and we were both hungry. So I said no but hope that he would make some compensation for the inconvenience because we had to get a clean plate and I got some of her dish and she got some of mine. Very disappointed in the inconvenience of the meal. When I got my ticket there was no compensation for that. I gave a tip and I wrote on the back of the receipt. I was very disappointed that you didn’t do something to make up for us getting the wrong meals. I think he could have just given us a 10% or gave us a small container of the right food to go or something to show that he made a mistake! Very disappointed. Make sure you double check and make sure you have the right dish in front of you
