We came for the first time at 5 pm on a Saturday. We were one family of three others there. That should have been a sign.
Dirty, dirty everywhere.
If you can’t take care of the building…..how are we to trust the food? Sushi was warm. White rice was hard. The things that said “fried” were squishy. Mac n cheese I thought would be a safe choice but it was just a layer of oil. There were labels on some foods, and none on others. Why can’t we have ONE decent buffet here! Instead of sitting on your phone at the front desk, help! Clean your building! Put out fresh food! This place will not be visited again.

Don’t be fooled by the picture. 2 people $30. Most of the food was dried out or swimming in super watery broth. 4 of 7 pieces of chicken were not done. Never saw the waitress after she collected our cash. I got physically ill twice after leaving. I will not be back. Would give 0 stars if that were an option. Should have had a mai tai instead of the food.

Ordered the beef with snow peas, which is always stir-fried with a brown sauce. Not here. Not this time.
It basically arrived like a soup; pretty much looks like they ladled some dirty dishwater over the ingredients. I refused to even taste it because, at this point, I’m not sure that isn’t what they actually did. My wife and daughter’s food was absolutely bland and tasteless, to where we had to use our own seasonings to make it palatable.
This place used to be pretty good, but now it is just not worth it.
An absolute waste of money.
My family will never be ordering from here again.
Whoever is running this place needs to just give it up, and considering many of the other reviews I’ve read on here, the Health Department should also get involved.
Shameful.

The food was fresh and the largest buffet in Jacksonville. The hibachi and sushi was outstanding. The best sweet tea around! If you’re from the south you know how important that is! Danielle kept the glasses filled and plates cleared. Very impressed with the level of service and food for such a great buffet. They have a regular menu to order from also. Highly recommend Mai Tai and will return often

I was very excited about this place. I had read some of the reviews and overall people seemed to have a very positive experience. I found mixed information on pricing so I called ahead, it is $16.95 not including a drink and honestly not worth the price or the hype. It was slow when we went barely anyone in the restaurant. I will state everything else is included in the price: the main hot buffet and cold stuff(i.e. fruits, salad, dessert) as well as the sushi/hibachi. From their online menu and what I read, I expected a plethora of options and found the amount of choices limited compared to buffets I have attended in the past for lower cost and drink included. The sushi was warm, which is worrisome to say the least and we didn’t end up getting hibachi after experiencing the sushi. I got several things from the buffet, however, only 2 choices out of all I got was fresh, the tomato cucumber salad and the pot stickers. The rice was crusted and dry on the outside, I tried to break it apart and get from the middle, but unfortunately still got old crispy bits. The orange or sweet/sour chicken was half mushy, half hard, not sure which one as nothing was labeled fully or properly, most labels present were either upside down or not over the correct item. Many items were obviously sitting there a while. I watched to see if they would rotate out any old trays since we were there for a bit to get some more fresh stuff and unfortunately the staff just seemed to check if items were depleted and if they weren’t they didn’t refresh anything otherwise. Another thing I noticed was, I guess to save cost they must use the inside of their cucumbers for the sushi and only use the outer ring for the salad which was only slightly disappointing compared to the rest of the experience. I will say our server did a decent job in the beginning clearing our plates and refilling our drinks, I wish they allowed a way to tip or had a notice on their website that if you want to tip to bring cash, I always tip via card and didn’t have any cash on me. Bathrooms were cleanish and the restaurant atmosphere was quirky and charming, they have this cute little railroad that goes around the dining room, but you have to pay quarters for it which is a lovely way to donate to help blind kids in need, which i also wish they had more information about.

TLDR; Food was not the freshest it could have been. Service was decent. Price is high compared to value. Overall not the best food or experience I’ve had at an all you can eat buffet, but I feel like I wouldn’t have been as disappointed had the reviews not been so stellar. Best part of experience is that he did not charge us for our 10 month old, who enjoyed a small plate of soft fruits and some jello.

We came in around 8:15 and they close at 9. They offered to make anything. On the bar fresh for us. They were so nice. The restaurant was clean and the hibachi was amazing. The sushi was very good. They had a great selection . The waitress was very helpful and was willing to go the extra mile to make sure we as a family were taking care
of. Great job!!

The food is very tasty and the variety of selections are very nice.
My only issue is the inside atmosphere is very dark and drab.
I think Asian decor and music may enhance the area and be very appropriate with the meal.
Some foods online look dried out or like it been sitting on the serving line too long.

Food gave me horrible stomach problems. Fish was gray. It was so mid, you’re better off going to Taco Bell or literally any other restaurant that’s not this one. It’s very old. Literally not a single thing on the buffet was labeled correctly. None of the nutritional facts or what was contained in each item was listed. Not even worth looking at

Went there today for the first time, it’s different from other buffets since you have to pay first and you can choose to sit anywhere. I saw a picture before coming here that claimed to be the best buffet in town but I don’t think so. It’s mediocre. The chicken meat is very dry or mushy. The pork dumplings or any other pork dish had weird taste in it. They have hibachi and it is cool since you get to watch and pick what’s going to be on your hibachi. There isn’t any sushi much to my dismay, maybe it’s available during the dinner? Not sure. I think the plates weren’t very clean since I had to rub something off. I ended up getting food poisoning after and we will most likely not be back because of it. The reason why I gave 2 stars because the people were very friendly and we had a good service. The water they served is very clean and filtered too so I’d give them that.

The hot bar (buffet) was not tasty and most food was dry. The egg drop soup was even bad.

Hot bar had items that were mislabeled and the sweet and sour chicken was all I liked. The place was not real clean.

If it weren’t for the hibachi bar, I would have given it a 1 star.
