Mai in Seaport completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the space set the tone: an intimate dining room with a sleek bar, low lighting, and chill club style music that made the whole experience feel elevated yet relaxed. It strikes that rare balance between a high end atmosphere and a place you actually want to linger in.
The service was exceptional across the board. Every server was attentive without being overbearing, and they took the time to walk us through each dish with thoughtful, detailed explanations. It felt less like a typical dinner service and more like a curated tasting experience.
The food was the real highlight. The wagyu flight was unforgettable… Three pieces of wagyu nigiri, each topped differently, including one with uni and another with caviar, creating rich, layered bites that practically melted on the tongue. The toro handroll with caviar was pure indulgence, while the wagyu tenderloin handroll with truffle brought deep, savory flavor with an aromatic finish. The uni handroll was incredibly fresh and creamy, and the medai sashimi was delicate, clean, and beautifully cut.
Even the hot dishes impressed. The wagyu steak frites were perfectly cooked and deeply flavorful, and the duck risotto was rich, comforting, and beautifully balanced.
Between the atmosphere, the polished yet welcoming service, and the incredibly thoughtful menu, Mai feels like one of the most exciting dining experiences in Seaport right now. It’s the kind of place you come to for a special night out and immediately start planning your next visit.

Wow, talk about an amazing culinary experience. I started off with the matchatini which was delicious and very unique (I would recommend this as a dessert drink rather than one to have with dinner). If there are two things I’d say you have to have, it’s the torched toro risotto appetizer and the spicy tuna hand roll. Absolutely spectacular. Atmosphere is very intimate, I’d recommend it for a date night or an intimate party, I wouldn’t come here with a big group as it is a little tight. But overall, an amazing restaurant with a great menu and wonderful staff!

I visted Mai on Monday for dinner and extraordinary is an understatement. Everything I tried tasted fresh and uniquely curated. My favorite handroll I highly recommend is the toro handroll. It was creamy and melt-in-your-mouth and the takuan added a perfect contrast in texture. The wagyu tenderloin frites were also a highlight, the wagyu with a delicious buttery flavor and fries cooked to perfection. I also highly recommend the virgin matchatini as a mocktail. It was not too sweet and the creamy cheese foam compliments the matcha. The atmosphere was vibrant and the ambient lighting added a great touch. The service was amazing with the help of our servers Phanna, John, and Dylan. They were attentive and walked us through all the dishes presented to us.

I came into Mai tonight with some friends to try a good amount of the menu and cocktails. Everything was incredible! John, Dylan, and Phanna provided excellent, attentive service, made sure we had everything we needed. The apps were amazing— 10/10 for the sashimi and chicken nuggets w/caviar. For the hand rolls, I tried the eel foi gras, snow crab ikura, lobster california, and the wagyu sirloin & tenderloin hand rolls. The foi gras & wagyu hand rolls were delicious! They just melt in your mouth. The steak frites were cooked to perfection and the chimichurri sauce on top was a great addition. The duck was also very soft and tender! For cocktails, the strawberry matchatini and the salted plum float; both very creamy with distinct flavor. My experience was great and I’ll definitely be back!

Having hearing many good things about Mai’s, A few friends and I decided to stop in and have Dinner, everything about Mai’s was excellent starting with Service
John and Phanna were amazing, explaining every dish that was ordered, answered any questions we had, giving us a great experience.
Food: Hands down one of the best handrolls we had, the Toro was nice and fatty, the Wagyu was super soft and tender you barely have to chew. The Steak frites were thin cut which gave the fries a nice crisp paired with the truffle ketchup you can’t get that flavor anywhere! Everything was thought out well, each ingredient was fresh and complemented eachother! Would definitely come back!

Mai in Seaport was honestly so good — everything tasted super fresh and well put together. I started with the cabbage salad which was light, super crisp, and a great way to kick things off. I got a couple of handrolls that were really solid, super fresh and flavorful. The chicken tempura with caviar was probably my favorite and the sauce was so good, and the caviar added the perfect salty bite without being too much. The wagyu frites were amazing too since the wagyu was super tender, and the fries were perfectly crispy without feeling greasy at all. And the strawberry matchatini at the end was such a fun dessert drink it was sweet, creamy, and just really delicious. Definitely want to go back and try more.

Every dish at Mai Seaport feels like a carefully composed symphony — familiar yet elevated to perfection. The Uni Toast set the tone: buttery, crisp, and layered with the briny sweetness of fresh uni — a true umami indulgence. The Wagyu Tartare followed with melt-in-your-mouth richness, perfectly balanced with acidity and texture.
The Sea Bream Carpaccio was a delicate showstopper — paper-thin slices kissed with citrus and sea salt, each bite bright and clean. The Miso Butter Cod Handroll and A5 Tenderloin Handroll were absolute highlights: warm rice, perfectly crisp nori, and fillings so luxurious they redefine what a handroll can be. The Toro Tea Cup was playful yet refined, a textural and temperature contrast that impressed from the first spoonful.
Then came the Foie Gras Handroll, rich and decadent with just the right balance of sweetness and salt. The Wagyu Fat Fries were addictive — golden, crispy, and infused with smoky depth. And finally, the Aged Duck Risotto tied it all together: creamy, savory, and layered with flavor from slow aging and perfect seasoning.
Every plate reflects technique, creativity, and respect for ingredients. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the pacing was seamless. Mai Seaport isn’t just a meal — it’s an experience worth savoring.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a welcoming atmosphere. The wait staff were super friendly and welcoming. On top of all that, the food was absolutely delicious. Affordable AND high quality hand rolls, wagyu tenderloin and fries were my absolute favorite, with such an enticing aroma and beautiful presentation. The uni is fresh and delicious as well. Also, the cocktails are delicious too.

First time here. Not disappointed. Despite having tasted different eel rolls, ikura rolls, salmon rolls, I was astounded by the unique and fresh flavors of these rolls. The premium set was worth checking out. I enjoyed all, but the butter cod roll was my favorite. Sweet note and and hint of butter in the soft seasoned rice wrapped inside the crunchy yet tender seaweed. These rolls went nicely with their soy sauce. I have to say the soy sauce here is not intense salty like many other sushi places. The soy sauce also delivered a soft sweetness that lingers in your mouth after a bit. The real wasabi and ginger was great. I will take my family back here again!

Went today for lunch, was there at 12pm sharp and was given a table immediately. The service is wonderful, we weren’t rushed, everyone was helpful. Started off with miso soup and seaweed salad: both very good.
But the handrolls are the stars. In particular, I REALLY enjoyed the Toro—plan to get at least two of these next time. I also tried the regular tuna, yellowtail with scallion, and wagyu. All were tasty and of good size. Ideally 4-5 per person is a good amount.
Cocktails are fun and tasty, tried their version of a French 75. Would definitely recommend.
Note: the Old Fashioned is by far the best drink on the menu. Comes smokey & full of flavor.
Again, really pleasant, tasty, fish was fresh and good quality. Presentation delightful. Will be back for sure.
