The dining area didn’t feel clean (sticky table and soy sauce bottle) and there were a lot of flies, which made eating dinner less enjoyable. We liked the takoyaki and sushi, but the tempura entree immediately made me sick. The service was lovely and everyone was friendly, but I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant based on the overall experience.

The sushi was delicious here! My rolls were beautiful and fresh. Definitely recommend the G roll. They offer/provide extra sauces (by request, like eel or spicy mayo) if you like. Not super busy on a Sunday night and servers were attentive.

We are native to Gainesville and this is by far the best sushi in town. The fish is fresh and well prepared. The fried rice is authentic. This is a family ran business they are warm and inviting. A hidden gem.

$24 for all this!! Are you kidding me so delicious and such a fair price. I left super full which doesn’t always happen with sushi. Miso soup was amazing. Great fresh fish.

My husband and I stopped to get pick up at Mahzu Sushi on a road trip back home to SW Florida. The food was absolutely incredible. The Sashimi dinner plate with rice was so good and fresh. There was not a fish that we didn’t like. Everything was so good. The rolls were also amazing. We ordered the Unbelievable roll, Noah roll, yellowtail scallion and salmon avocado roll. The peppered tuna on one of the rolls was something we’ve never had before and it was amazing. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Gainesville, or passing through on 75 (right off the exit). We will definitely be back!

My wife loves the sushi, it’s always beautifully prepared. She gets a dish which is effectively chef’s choice, so the flavors are different each time. I enjoy the pork katsu which is consistently my favorite non-sushi choice.
