My husband and I visited this restaurant to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. The service was excellent the host greeted us warmly, and our waitress was attentive and friendly, which made us feel truly welcomed. The ambience was lovely, creating a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for our evening.
The food itself was just okay not bad, but not particularly memorable compared to the rest of the experience. Parking was a little different than expected, though manageable once we figured it out. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a nice spot to celebrate a special occasion. We definitely plan to return.

Visited Mahogany River Terrace to celebrate two of my dear friends birthdays. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant had a great vibe. Beautiful view. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t allow us to take advantage of the Terrace. The food was wonderful. There were 12 people in our party and everyone said their food was good.
We tried several appetizers: fried oyster mushrooms, crab and spinach dip, and buffalo chicken egg rolls. All were good but the fried mushrooms were outstanding. I will definitely come back.

Service, atmosphere, cocktails and food was all amazing. Our waitress/bartender, Alisha, was friendly and made our experience great.
I ordered the seafood bouillabaisse and it is one of THE best dishes that I’ve ever tasted. In fact, we were walking to the car and decided to make reservations for the following night since it was all so wonderful!

I truly wanted to give this place a 5-star rating because the potential is definitely there, but unfortunately, a few things held the experience back.
We made reservations ahead of time, and we were told we would have to sit outside. Naturally, we assumed the inside must’ve been completely full—until we noticed several empty tables. The outdoor area was nice at first, but the mosquitos quickly became a problem. Thankfully, our waiter was very kind and eventually moved us to one of the many available indoor tables. That gesture was appreciated, but it did leave us wondering why we weren’t offered indoor seating from the beginning.
Next, a couple of our appetizers took so long that they had to be taken off the bill. When our entrées finally came out, they weren’t piping hot and felt like they had been sitting out for a while. The flavors were decent, but the temperature really took away from the overall enjoyment.
Another area for improvement is the presentation and professionalism of the waitstaff. A little more polish in appearance could go a long way in creating a more upscale dining experience to match the vibe they’re clearly going for.
All that said, I haven’t given up on this place. I really want it to be phenomenal. With some adjustments in service, kitchen timing, and staff presentation, I believe it can be. I’m open to returning and giving it another shot—hopefully with a better all-around experience.

Keisha Keisha Keisha!!! She started out presenting the expectations of what we would experience for my mother’s birthday dinner. She said she would give us the very best service and she went above and beyond. It was a party of 15 and she didn’t miss a beat. Drinks remained full, appetizers were presented together so no one was left out of eating and all our main dishes arrived together. She made sure of it. ALL the food was amazing, seafood pasta, crab cakes, lamb chops, asparagus, Mac and cheese, fried shrimp, vegan Salisbury steak, crab fingers, Cajun egg rolls and more!!! All of it was great!!! Thank you to Ms Keisha for making this experience 10/10!!! My mom had the best time!!

Our experience was amazing. Harvey was our waiter. He was great. The restaurant was beautiful. The atmosphere was pleasant with soft music and beautiful views of the river. Everything that we had was delicious. We had seasoned wings for the appetizer. They came out quickly and were piping hot and fresh. They were seasoned well. My husband had the Cajun fried catfish and greens. I had the blackened jumbo shrimp with greens and smashed loaded potatoes. Everything was extremely good with wonderful seasoning. The drinks were also good and strong. Lastly, the dessert was some of the best cake that I have ever tasted. The strawberry cake was top tier. I rate this restaurant 10/10. I would recommend to family and friends. We will definitely be back.

I went to Mahogany River Terrace for the first time and it was amazing! They offered a great selection of meals, such as Crab Fingers and Alligator Pasta. Their specialty drinks are creatively crafted to highlight figures of black culture.
The atmosphere was reminiscent of a jazz club in the 1930s mixed with modern architecture blending aspects of the past and present.
Overall, I believe that Mahogany River Terrace is not only a great restaurant but a symbol of progression and excellence wthin the black community.

I was a little nervous after looking at the reviews. That’s why it’s important to get the experience first yourself because I almost missed out on a beautiful dining experience. Food was 10/10. I had the crab fingers and chicken egg rolls for starters and for the main course I had the oxtails and grits. My husband had the shrimp and chicken Alfredo. Both were very delicious with great seasoning. The scenery is beautiful overlooking for the river at night. Service was great as well. Would definitely recommend
