After days of grills, soups and anything that has ever met a deep fryer, we desperately needed a culinary change of scenery.
And boom — spices, flavour, character.
Finally something that doesn’t taste like it was swimming in oil five minutes ago.
A proper little food journey without leaving town.
If your taste buds are bored, take them here. They’ll thank you.
Staff was also nice and friendly;)
The Honey Chilli potato dish was equally impressive — caramelised, slightly smoky, and tossed with sesame seeds and herbs for that perfect crunch and aroma. The texture was spot on, and the seasoning was bold without being overpowering.
The presentation was vibrant and appetising, and everything tasted freshly made. If you love rich spices and well-balanced flavours, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommend!❤️❤️❤️
We enjoyed our meals so much that we visited twice during our stay, and it never disappointed. If you’re looking for genuine Indian flavors in Phu Quoc, Maharaja Lounge is highly recommended.
For us with a kid, it was easy as they could alter spice to literally zero so our toddler / baby could eat.
Food is amazing and chef literally pours his/her soul as it says on their menu!
We ordered basic food
1. Rice + Yellow Dal
2. Paneer Butter Masala – I usually don’t like it but it was out of the world. Our kid finished nearly 3/4th of it.
3. Hara Bhara Kebab – very nice crunchy exterior and soft insides
4. Bhindi masala – preparation was good but bhindi was south East Asian bhindi so texture was not great
5. Momos – can give it a pass but preparation was good, it was thinly rolled, very spicy though.
Vibe is basic but food and service makeup more than for anything.
Being away from home often brings a sense of homesickness — especially when it comes to food. But during our stay, Maharaja Lounge, conveniently located right next to our accommodation, ensured that we never missed home for even a moment.
They offer an impressive range of dishes covering the best of North Indian cuisine — from flavourful starters to rich main courses, side dishes, and even chaat varieties. To our delight, they also brought the taste of South India to the table with their delicious sambar-idli and sambar-vada, which became an instant favourite for my toddler. Their Kerala parotta combo was another highlight, served with authentic flavour and perfect balance.
What truly stood out, apart from the taste, was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. The dishes were prepared with authentic flavours and the right proportions, making every meal feel like it was straight from our homeland. The team was also extremely accommodating — they accepted pre-orders and prepared takeaways precisely on time, making our travel schedule so much easier.
A big heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Maharaja Lounge for giving us comfort, warmth, and a homely dining experience miles away from home. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area and craving authentic Indian flavours!
Last night, We ordered Navratna biriyani and told them to pack so that we can enjoy dinner at our hotel but after reaching hotel, we tried the food and it was stinking so much and we felt it was not fresh. Next day morning we went again to get it replaced and he denied by saying “sorry, chef said it was fresh we can not change or replace.”
Also – while we were ordering food, we observed that the manager was constantly offering small food ( multiple trials of sabji) to taste to other foreign visitors to check their spice level but when we asked what will be the difference between medium and more spice, can we taste? They denied by saying sorry.
Never going or giving any recommendations of this place to anyone!
I think all the reviews are not genuine or we are unlucky.
We recently had dinner at Maharaja in Phu Quoc, and the food was absolutely delicious. It felt like we were in New Delhi — the flavors and spices were so authentic. I’ve never had Indian food this good before. They even let you taste the spice level beforehand to adjust it to your preference. Every dish was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The owner is a busy man, but he still takes the time to greet and talk with his guests — you can tell he’s truly passionate about what he does. Highly recommended!
