My husband and I love this place for date night! The food is always amazing and extremely consistent. Everything we’ve tried is perfectly spiced, and the portions are perfect to fill you up so you don’t leave hungry. Will always keep coming back for more!

The lunch special had a wide variety of options at reasonable prices. It is one of the better Indian restaurants we’ve eaten at…and we like Indian food. Service was prompt and friendly. Food served within reasonable amount of time. Highly recommend this place. We had a group of 7 and everyone loved it.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant!!! I enjoyed the food so much I couldn’t get a picture. I recommend one of the platters including chicken, lamb, and shrimp. Don’t forget the sides and appetizers as well!!

The food tastes good, but the portions are so small! For example they charge $19 for an order of chicken korma and it literally had 8 small cubes of chicken! Each dish is enough for one person maybe 2. There were 4 of us and we ordered mixed salad. They literally gave us 4 slices of cucumbers, 4 slices of daikons, 4 cherry tomatoes, 4 slices of carrots and some onions. When I saw the plate I couldn’t help but laugh. The service was mediocre, nothing great. My honest opinion is that this place is a rip off. The food is the same as the old restaurant, smaller portions and a hefty price tag. Unfortunately we won’t be back.

always been my family’s favorite indian restaurant in all of charlottesville 🙂 ordered from here for over a decade, through growing up here, coming home for college, and now visiting my parents from out of state <3 never had a bad meal here ever, and i’ve tried a lot of the vegetarian options over the years. anything with paneer or lentils are always great bets. will continue to aak my parents for maharaja take out every time i visit <3

We are visiting from out of town, and we have already gone to Maharaja twice. It’s so delicious that we are planning to go back a third time before we leave Charlottesville. The food is so flavorful, and there are plenty of options. The atmosphere is great too, very friendly service. Very highly recommend, you will be glad you went.

The food was amazing! If you like spicy, definitely go with the ‘Indian Spice’. The portions are massive so plenty to take home and reheat the next day like I did. This was my husbands goat Madras and my chicken tikka masala reheated. Definitely plan on going back.

Very good, authentic Indian food. It would be helpful to have descriptions of the dishes served on the menu, though. When we had questions about dishes we were unfamiliar with we were told to look at the menu (which didn’t have descriptions of the dishes).
