This joint is busy and parking can be a bit of a circus. In for the vegan hot chocolate which is delish, made to perfection. Barrister checked to ensure it was vegan and shown. Warm and creamy with oat mylk. Nestled at the corner with multiple establishments. Inside, students of study and lively conversations. Tight space when packed. Would be a fav if local, yet an adoring treat to experience this boondocks vintage spot of a coffeehouse.

Great espresso and lots of baked goods, enough for a quick bite. They get through a line pretty quick too. Lots of space to work, just might be a little noisy.

I’ve been here countless times for remote work. Both the inside and outside have been newly remodeled, and the atmosphere and style is cozy and very nicely designed. They have a sick outdoor courtyard that is freshly remodeled. They also have two big communal tables inside, so if you bring a big group when it’s not too busy, you may be able to get one of them. The workers here are the sweetest people, and the service has always been great. As far as coffee shop pastries go, the pastries here are some of the best, if not the best, in Baton Rouge. Their homemade pop-tarts are a MUST-ORDER ITEM.. they will change the trajectory of your life!!! Their savory food items are also homemade, but they need some tweaking. All of the savory sandwiches/panini I’ve tried have an element of sweetness, which is weird. I wish they were saltier and less sweet, especially for anything that has egg. The grits bowl is VERY good, but I am personally freaked out by the amount of butter they put in the grits. We all know that butter makes grits taste great, but the grits at Magpie take this way way too far. I think it would be awesome if they made them with less butter, but then add the option to get more butter on the side for people who want more.

Unfortunately it would be unfair for me to comment on their coffee because I don’t even like coffee. Anyway, this place is AMAZING and I highly recommend it.

If you’re looking to grab Matcha, this place is not for you, the Matcha tasted like milk with no flavor at all. Super friendly service and they have a lot of other great options, but from my experience, I would not come back for Matcha.

Food and coffee were very mediocre. $20 for a coffee and a small, flavorless sandwich. Employees don’t act like your usual coffee shop employees and don’t interact much with customers. Nice place to study in a good location but wouldn’t recommend coffee or food.

Shoutout Josh for making the world’s most delicious “honey nut Cheerios” matcha! Made with oat milk, I’d petition for this to be a permanent menu item. It’s nice to visit BR and be met with deliciously inventive drinks such as this. The space is beautiful, sunny and comfortable/spacious for remote workers or friends catching up alike.

I couldn’t really taste the vanilla in my latte, it was really bitter. But, great service and atmosphere. I will be back and try something different from the menu. Hopefully it will be better than what I had today.

A friend and I enjoyed a drip coffee and a latte. She got a vegan breakfast sandwich and loved it! We will be back. Plenty of places for LSU students to study. Indoor and some outdoor seating.

Great little coffee place close to LSU. Very good pastries and friendly staff. Parking can be a bit limited but there’s always a spot if you go towards I-10.
