Was there with my friends when another patron made a racist comment toward my friend. When confronted near the bar area the female brown hair bartender working there at the time (1/9/2026 around 9:30) ask us all to stop. We respectfully replied “okay thank you” and tried to remove ourselves from the situation and leave. However, despite trying to leave the bartender then came over and only ask the patron who said the racist comment if she was okay and completely ignored us. Without saying anything my group proceeded to try and leave but was followed by the bartender out the bar despite not escalating the situation or caused the initial issue. I understand at the end of the day this is just a bar but to allow racist comments to occur and be followed out the bar despite not during anything wrong is unprofessional regardless.

I love old bars, so I may be a little biased. The staff has always been friendly every time I have stopped in. Patrons seem like locals, and it’s never been too rowdy (well, I have never been in during a big game, so it probably can get like that when Oregon or some other big favorite team is playing). The building is old and has clearly been here a very long time. The bar definitely has character. I feel right at home here.

One of the BEST bars in Salem, The Tempura green beans are TO DIE FOR! Chill atmosphere, awesome big bar, friendly staff and the smoking area doesn’t accost non-smoking Patton’s with their fumes. Highly recommend!

Would give zero some.person that claimed to be bar staff got aggressive with me even after I order food and drink and I got chased out by this person when I was trued to Kool said situation down but it is what it is frust and last time ever coming to this dump thankfully I don’t drink anymore so not a big deal will be filling a complaint with city and better business bureau way to go idiot chase out a paying customer

Bar tender was hangry and refused to serve me after my first beer. Said I was being rude for asking him for another beer. Great way to treat paying customers.

My friends and I came in on a Saturday evening to eat and have some drinks. We were seated outside per our request and the waitress asked what we wanted but as we had just sat down we didn’t know what we wanted yet. We waited 20-25 minutes and nobody came to check on us so we ended up leaving and we saw the two girls behind the bar chatting.
