Had always heard great things about this place and it lived up to the hype. A few friends who grew up in the area recommended this place and I was right to listen to them. The service was great. Large wine list. They were great about allergies and making sure no cross contamination happened at any time. Always making sure what was ordered was prepared safely.

This place was amazing from start to finish. Enjoyed the walk-up to the actual restaurant, historic street with a neat vibe. Inside seated quickly and very high class elegant atmosphere. Our server, Gabe, was quick to greet us and offer us recommendations. Ordered the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, and the bouillabaisse. All of it was delicious and amazing, so much food couldn’t even finish it even though you wanted to find the room. About halfway through, my wife and I switched plates and enjoyed the others plate just as much.

Had an amazing dinner here to celebrate a birthday. The food was perfect in every way. As others have said, definitely end off with the pecan pie, but otherwise you can’t seem to go wrong with the menu. Also an extensive, and I do mean extensive list of wines available as well as some half bottles.

I was visiting Charleston, stumbled across this restaurant and it did not disappoint. I came during brunch hours on a Saturday and it was was super busy but I was able to get a seat in the bar area. I ordered the shellfish and grits which consisted of shrimp and scallops and it was the best that I have ever had. The grits were so creamy and well seasoned and the sauce that the seafood was delicious. I cleaned my plate. I definitely want to eat here again, and try their dinner menu options.

A lovely meal at Magnolias! We wanted Southern food and Magnolias did not disappoint. We didn’t have a reservation but managed to grab a table at the bar, overlooking the main restaurant floor.

The food was excellent. We had the homemade southern pimento cheese with homemade pita. We both had the classic fried chicken w pimento cheese and pickles on potato bun. Delish! We were seated in the way, way, way back. Felt like I wasn’t in the same restaurant. Our order took a long, long time. Overall, it’s very good food. Sit by the front of the restaurant . I would return.

This was a girls’ lunch out, and for a party of six, we had to make reservations almost a month in advance and had to put a credit card on file to make the reservation. This is the main reason I didn’t give a 5 star review.

What a great foodie experience. From our crispy shrimp cake appie to our main courses and dessert, everything we had was delicious. My wife ordered the wreck fish and I had the seafood bouliebaisse, both flavourful and tasty. We had the pecan pie for dessert. Their cocktails were also excellent as was their espresso. I’d highly recommend Magnolias to anyone who visits Charleston.

This was absolutely charming! We were only in Charleston for a day and wanted an upscale southern-inspired option. This was perfect! We started with appetizers of dill pickle deviled eggs, blue crab bisque, and loaded homemade fried potato crisps. They were all delicious, but the blue crab bisque was the favorite. Then we had the rack of lamb and the low country bouillabaisse. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the bouillabaisse was by far the best I’ve ever eaten.

An amazing balance of delicious comfort food with complex flavors. We enjoyed the pimiento cheese and fried green tomatoes to start and then were wowed by the catfish and chicken breast entrees. The banana upside down cake dessert was a perfect finish. Highly recommend and would revisit!
