Nothing to be excited about. After reading seeing Google reviews I was excited.
Its an average restaurant with a good atmosphere.

The chicken sando didnt really have any flavor and seemed boiled or from a frozen package microwaved. Same with the curry fries.
The fried chicken had a burnt flavor. Still edible.
Creole LinguinI had good flavor. Was the best out of the 3 items we ordered.
Overall its average and still decent to eat. Pricing is a little on the higher side. Nothing crazy that would make us not want to visit again.

I had higher hopes for magnolia tavern as ive heard their brunch is pretty awesome. Where it fell short for me was the menu. I was hoping to see the gumbo on the menu but only jambalaya. They did have a traditional style elk burger but their other burger options were smash burgers and left me desiring a bit more. The drink list and liquor selection is extensive and could be a huge highlight if thats what you were after. I was tempted to try the fried chicken but opted out because they didnt have a dark meat option only chicken breast chunks. I’ve heard great reviews about that shrimp and grits.. so I may come back during dinner in the future for that. Ill have to try the brunch before I write this place off as I have a strong inclination this will be what makes it great for me. My wife did mention they have a lot of options for vegetarian substitutes and gluten free eaters. The windows seats get cold and the front door provides a nice draft to the regular table seats on a chilly winter evening. Don’t leave your jacket in the car.

Great experience at magnolia. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is great and the food and drinks were delicious. It’s a little pricey but its upscale place and it’s not unreasonable.

Had a great experience here. The elk burger was great, added a fried egg which took it to the next level. Paige was our server, she was knowledgeable and friendly. We will be back!

Food is pretty good thus the second star. ⭐️

Service sucks. We came a whole hour before closing time and immediately we felt unwelcome. The waitress made sure to emphasize that the kitchen is closing. We ordered right away but the waitress gave us attitude. If you guys wanna close an hour early then change your hours and close an hour early. But being rude is uncalled for.

I’ve been here many times before, but definitely not coming back. We ended up canceling our order and leaving.

Server was great! Food and drinks were okay – pretty good, but not for that price. Atmosphere was ok, but very loud, had to yell to be heard at the same table.

Ahh, soo good. I had the Creole Linguini, Burnt Ends, and the Weeping Willow cocktail. Everything was delicious Service was wonderful, and it was pretty busy when I got there, so I chose a table near the bar. I surprised myself and my server when I just about finished all my food. It’s been a while since I’ve a meal like that! Time to go walk it off. Needless to say, I will be back. Highly recommend you try the burnt ends!!

Brought our group here for a late brunch with drinks and food.

I had the chicken and waffles, very good but chicken was slightly over fried and slightly under floured so it burned the edges and dried it out a little. Sausage gravy made up for it though. Waffle was nice.

Notes from the group:
Burger and fries was really good, fry sauce was kind of like a mustard aioli. Tasty.

Pulled pork sandwich was really good

Biscuits and gravy was amazing

Pork belly burnt ends were succulent and delicious.

All the drinks were great.

I’d recommend not topping the one drink with the hibiscus flowers… It was a bit undesirable to drink once they mixed in.

Overall we would come back.

There are no magnolias here, so they are telling a little fib about that. But they do have “southern-style” cuisine, so I’ll allow it. They also have the northwest smash burger thing and all that so, you know, you have choices and stuff.

I had a smash burger on happy hour prices. Very nice. Mrs KC had some chicken thing that she said had too much bread, but otherwise was okay.

And, good news! All the whiskeys. They have stupid high priced bourbons, and a really swell scotch list.

So over all, I really recommend this place and encourage you to visit. And I just saw the magnolias hiding behind the bar, so they aren’t even lying!
