I was excited when I first read all the great reviews about this place. But it turned out to be a disappointment. First, all the items now cost a lot more, and are very small on portion size. Truffle Mac and Cheese just used regular elbow pasta. Oyster Po Boy had maybe 7 small fried oysters. $20.95 for Roast Beef Po Boy was not worth it at all, taste was mediocre and really small portion. Maybe this placed used to be good, but our experience was not so much. Even chain restaurant Bayou Jack’s down the street has better quality Cajun food, and much better price/portion.
In response to the recent reply from the owner:
My reviews are based on my personal experience comparing with other similar restaurants in this category and area. I appreciate the offer, but it is out of the way for me. To be fair, portion size is based on personal preference, so it is highly subjective. I actually use a point scoring system based on: presentation, texture, taste, price, portion, ambiance and décor, accessibility, service. Overall score is still 3/5 based on the single visit.

We had such a fun experience and great service. We ordered the mouth watering raging Cajun and shrimp & grits. The chicken had the perfect amount of crisp and so deliciously tender accompanied with the savory spice. The corn was such a great addition with its savory sweetness and spice. The shrimp and grits were the best grits we have ever had and the prawns were cooked perfect. This is a must try and the peeps working there are so fun. This is a must try. You

Fantastic creole restaurant inside Oak Street Food Hall. Their muffuletta sandwich was delicious! Definitely split it with someone because it’s huge. The fries could be better, IMO, but my daughter liked them. We’ll definitely be back to try more dishes! (Bonus, the owner was very nice and friendly!)

You definitely should hit this spot up. Yeschf is located inside the Oak St. Food & Brew food hall. Fat Tuesday (fried boudin balls) will send your tastebuds right to New Orleans. We had the Combo Po-Boy (shrimp/oysters), Pete’s Shrimp Creole and the famous Shrimp and Grits. Every meal we had was the best tasting cajun/creole we have ever had since New Orleans. Even if you don’t care for grits….give them a try here. You won’t be disappointed. To top off our lunch we had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. Don’t sleep on it!!! Thanks Chef, we will be back again.

I can not get enough of this place! The breading they use on the the fried shrimp, oysters, & red snapper in the “Rampart Rambler” is the most flavorful and delicious EVER. Every item I’ve tried here has been incredible.
Bonus: the chef is so friendly, always happy to answer questions or make suggestions if you can’t decide what to get… and his food is to die for!

Just discovered a true gem in the heart of Roanoke! This was our first visit to Yeschf and wow, it was FANTASTIC!
We ordered shrimp and grits, gumbo, shrimp po boy and truffle mac and cheese. The shrimp and grits are to die for… huge shrimp with the most succulent grits. The gumbo was seasoned to perfection with just the right amount of kick! The po boy was the best I’ve had and the truffle mac was delicious (we started eating the truffle mac before remembering to take a pic).
Chef Rodney was so personable and shared a little background on how Yeschf came to be. Wishing a very special heavenly birthday to Ronald for being the inspiration behind Yeschf!
Thank you Chef Rodney for an incredible dinner tonight! You bet we’ll be back again very soon!

Magnolia Bar and Grill by YesChf is now open! YesChf was formerly located at Oak St. Food Hall and now to a bigger location at the Holiday Inn in Trophy Club. You do not have to stay at the hotel to visit! They have their own restaurant entrance.
I came here because my partner and I had the pleasure of celebrating our 2nd year anniversary tonight since we had our 2nd date at his first location 2 years ago. Our bartender Jacob was fun and all the staff were welcoming.
What do they have to offer? A delicious and intentional menu of creole staples and great service. If you’re in the area, please check them out! If you come out 2/13, they are doing a Fat Tuesday celebration. Follow their social media @yeschfcreolecuisine to keep up on other events.
They currently have an all-day happy hour throughout tomorrow, but outside of that, you can catch it at 3-6pm.
The food is phenomenal. The bread pudding is a must. This time around I tried the Snapper Menuire. Honestly, everything has so much flavor and you can’t go wrong. We took a chance on Jacob’s recommendation and got the ribs and so glad we did!
I hope you try it and enjoy it as much as I do!

This is a must-see-to-believe. From the outside, it’s like; ok…we’re here and we’re hungry, let’s just hope for the best…once the food is actually in front of you…180…you’re like; O. M. G. And that’s all I can say. Today was the first time we’d been here and our expectations were straight up blown out of the water, food-wise. Chef Rodney is a foodie angel of the highest order. He came out to ask how the meal was and told us a little about his culinary history. This is so refreshing in a time where it’s not common for a couple sitting down to share a meal to put down their phone(s) before picking up their fork. When Anthony brought out our food, I could see immediately that it was going to be something special and I wasn’t wrong…I just didn’t expect this experience to be so…wonderful. Please take a chance to let this man and this menu change your mind on what good food should be. Especially when it’s made from the heart. From one foodie to another, thank you, Chef!❤️

Incredible food, and even better service. The head Chef made it a point to check up on my group and ensure that the food was to his standards. I wish I would’ve gotten the servers name but she was incredibly nice and was very tentative to my table and our every need. All in all it was a 5 star dining experience

I have always come to the brewery food hall for another vendor, and that vendor actually told me Yeschf is worth the try. He was so right. This food was fantastic and I will never skip this food counter again. I was originally just going to try the truffle mac’n’cheese but the young guy at the counter suggested the shrimp and grits. I love grits. I’m almost snobby about them at restaurants even though I eat instant grits at home. Probably tied for the best grits I’ve ever had. My other favorite closed though, so I guess that makes Yeschf my new favorite. The flavor and texture are both spot on. Even my boyfriend, who hates grits, said they were amazing. That’s high praise from him. The truffle mac’n’cheese was delicious; I love farfalle pasta so I was so happy to see they use that pasta shape. Will not leave without ordering from Yeschf on future visits.
