Fantastic quality! Compared to other sushi buffets, this is hands down the best in Charlotte! If I ordered this at a Japanese à la carte I would have been more than happy too. Their sushi is more like real Japanese sushi than any other place I’ve tried in Charlotte.

Perfect nigiri:
– rice texture, taste and size
– protein, generous size, fresh
Amazing rolls:
– generous amount of fillings and not too much rice
– perfect balance with rice not being too big and protein being very fresh and incredibly generous.

My husband and I had an amazing experience at Magic Sushi which is an AYCE (all you can eat) sushi and hibachi restaurant! The location is perfect with plenty of parking, making it super convenient. Inside, the decor is modern and bright, creating such a welcoming vibe. Our server, Jamal, was incredibly kind and answered all our questions with so much knowledge. The sushi – was incredible, the Godzilla is highly recommended for deep fried sushi lovers. Everything about the place was fantastic, and we’re definitely coming back for more. Five stars all the way!

Magic Sushi is a nice addition to the University area, taking over the space where Blacow used to be. There’s plenty of seating, including a sushi bar where you can watch the chefs prepare the rolls, which is a fun touch.

When I visited, the restaurant was part of an Offline deal offering $15 off the dinner bill (though that promo has ended). Most rolls are priced around $12–$16. We each ordered a roll and shared, which was plenty of food for us. Both rolls were beautifully presented and tasted delicious, the lobster king roll and the spicy girl roll. Since we had a few dollars left on the deal, I added a miso soup, and my friend tried an Asian bottled soft drink. The soup was flavorful and a nice starter, but I wasn’t a fan of the coconut-flavored soda.

The biggest downside was the service. We had to ask for water, and refills never came. While the sushi itself is good, there are lots of great sushi spots in town, including some all-you-can-eat options. Still, Magic Sushi is close to home, and I’d go back for convenience and quality rolls.

During the ice storm this was the ONLY place open. I give Manager Kangwei Lin and his wonderful staff lots of credit for serving some SOLID Food during this time. They he all you can eat menu on the weekends was fantastic and the food tasty and on point. Looking for a casual atmosphere with tasty sushi and much more, but his is the place!

Started and ended badly. When I told the hostess it was just me; she literally shoved a napkin and a menu in my hand and said i could sit at the bar and pointed. Upon arriving at the bar it still had the previous persons cc trays and receipts. No one took these or cleaned the bar the entire time I was there. After 5 minutes watching the sushi bar team ignore me a server finally approached me and asked me what I wanted to drink with an obvious “I couldn’t care less” attitude. Never saw him again. Other people brought me the food pictured; The bang bang shrimp and steak hibachi. The shrimp looked horrible, but was cooked well, however; destroyed with its sauce which was sloppy, thick, and separated. The steak hibachi looked great but the steak was like leather and the shrimp sauce was like toothpaste. Overall it was obvious some of the servers couldn’t care less, the atmosphere was thick with servers with attitude, and the food was horrible. I would prefer to give this place a 0. Maybe it was a really off night.

Ordered our sushi To-Go so grading the atmosphere was honestly at first glance walking in. Very inviting, front host was nice and she was welcoming. Didn’t have to wait long on our order. The Salmon Lover Roll was delicious. Great flavor and definitely stuffed accordingly (8pc). Layered with salmon on top and drizzled spicy mayo with masago. The Spicy Salmon Roll was good and full of thickness per piece. For takeout, I would say pretty solid. Will have to come back and sit down to experience in house service.

Absolutely loved this place! The sashimi was incredibly fresh with generous portions and so many options to choose from. The onion soup was delicious and flavorful. The service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole dining experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone craving quality sushi in Charlotte!

Went to visit this place for the first time with high hopes but was very disappointed. Server was misleading. Unlimited is not truly unlimited. They charge you for food that you do not eat. $25 all you can eat for adults yet they add additional surcharge for items not eaten and also want to charge even more if you take the food home that you’ve been surcharged for. I’ll never go back again. The service fell short and the food was not worth the money. If you go read the fine print and don’t rely on the server for information.

I visited this place on 8/30/25 at noon.
The food quality and variety is the best in Charlotte area.
The price is good, all you can eat for $25 (adult).
The service is good, but a little bit slow (it might be because I visited in a Labor’s day weekend).
There is free parking in front of the restaurant.
I highly recommend this Japanese restaurant.

The food was actually pretty decent but the service here sucks. Me and my man are from outta town and when we come back to charlotte we’ll scout for a different ayce sushi spot. We waited 30 minutes for our starters and then when they finally arrived we were missing two dishes and had to wait an additional 20 minutes….the server had an attitude and we barely got any refills. The only good thing we got out of being here was some cute IG pics in front of the grass wall.
