I visited a soul food restaurant for the first time yesterday, and the food was absolutely amazing.
Everything tasted so authentic and delicious.
I ordered the BBQ ribs, yams, and mac and cheese.
The BBQ ribs were the best I’ve had in years — truly outstanding.
I really wanted to order the fried chicken, but I was told it would take about 30 minutes, so I decided to skip it this time.
Next time, I plan to call ahead and order it for pickup.
I highly recommend this place to everyone. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is worth it.
I can’t wait to go back again soon!

First time coming here and definitely won’t be my last. ChaCha has a warm soul and the food fits! Got the ribs (soo juuicy with Mac and cheese and yams. Ribs I’m a big dude and have a little left over for munchies.

I just finished my fried pork chop dinner, with potato salad, and mac & cheese. As always, the food was absolutely delicious! Chops fried and seasoned to perfection with cheesy creamy macaroni and mouth-watering potato salad.

Maggie’s Southern Kitchen was a very pleasant surprise for me. I’m from New York and since moving to New Jersey I’ve had a lot of trouble finding both good Puerto Rican restaurants, but also Soul Food/Southern Soul Food restaurants. Today I was really craving some soul food. This place not only fulfilled that craving, but also exceeded expectations. I’m not sure if the friendly woman who served me was Maggie or not, but she was the sweetest woman ever. She greeted me with a smile and laughed at my corny jokes. I ordered a lunch special with dark meat along with 2 sides and it came with a free corn bread. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor in every bite. Perfectly fried and seasoned. The yams and macaroni and cheese were so good that I was left wanting more. Yet the portions were not small. The corn bread was delicious and buttery. Not dry or stale like some of the other places that I’ve tried both in NY and NJ. By the way I got all of this and a water for only $13. I got there pretty early so I can’t speak much for the environment other than it was a clean restaurant and there was some good old school hip hop music videos playing on the TV. Parking was street parking, but I found a spot fairly quickly. The neighborhood is pretty chill and safe. I will be coming back to try different items and based on my lunch today I’m almost sure that the rest of the food will be great. Please stop by and check this place out. I promise that you won’t regret it!!!!!

Excellent soul food. Everything had great flavor and not salty or greasy. Cornbread was best I have had. Collard greens were excellent flavor and mac has great flavor too.
I had shrimp and fish combo, and it was a good amount. Nice size shrimps and good amount of fish.
My son had wings and mac, he enjoyed it very much. Wings were a great size too.
My hubby had shrimps and fries and he enjoyed as well.
Can’t wait to try their chocolate cake.
Place is clean and welcoming, will def be back.

The person behind the counter was rude. I asked her what do they have tonight. She was snarky and said, whatever is on the menu. No problem. I asked for oxtails. We don’t got that. I asked for rice. We don’t got that, well, then ma’am you DON’T HAVE WHATS ON THE MENU! Then I ordered a fish sandwich with wheat meat bread, and received white bread. To top things off, please see the picture of my husband’s plate!

This place is a piece of heaven. The food is divine. The owner n daughter were very friendly and down to earth. I wanted ketchup and she had ran out. The owner went out and get me ketchup. That’s love for your customers and dedication to her service. We will be driving 2 hours again to dine at Maggie’s order anything on the menu and you won’t be disappointed. I would give them 100 stars if I could.

The staff here is extremely rude to no reason . The food is completely trash . I’m mad I even wasted my money on top of that they didn’t even have ketchup after I payed for my food . The food was disgusting yuck. 2/10 I would never go back save yourself the headache and the disappointment . They need to shutdown immediately.

Went here today for lunch seemed like the girl behind the counter had a attitude! I ordered the smothered pork chop , rice and mac and cheese lunch meal. The Mac and cheese was very oily and some of the noodles was hard the white rice needed some salt! Overall I would not recommend this place ! Snapple was the best thing I paid for $21 wasted !

Very rude employees. Was picking up an order from them and when I got there it turned out they didn’t even start the order. I waited a total of 30 minutes, and 3 other customers who arrived after me got their orders before I got mine. Food doesn’t look appetizing either.
