Best travel food ever. Was not greasy or oily in the slightest despite having gotten burger and fries. The fish was light, flaky, and juicy, even when fried too. This is my new favorite place to eat at whenever I’m in town. I’m excited to try the rest of their menu. It was even so good my 7 year old ate all of his and part of mine.
Highly recommend. It put everyone in a great mood. Best hidden gem ever.

Three guys stopped here for Sunday breakfast after a weekend camping trip. All three of us did some form of meat and eggs with potatoes and sourdough toast, and all of us were very happy. Mine was a scramble with ham, sausage, onions, and jalapenos. Everything was great. Potatoes were diced, probably par-boiled, then fried with onions. Excellent flavor. Coffee was well above average for a diner — good and strong (but not in the Starbucks zone) with great flavor. Service was friendly and attentive.
I had lots of equally good meals and kind treatment here while volunteering in the 2008 election — we tried other restaurants, but the vast majority of our meals were eaten here.

My first stop here. I usually just stop for gas or go to McD. Wanted to see what else was available in Hawthorne. Glad I stopped. Best burger I’ve had in years!! Had the bacon cheeseburger with BBQ sauce and onions with fries. Good to be hungry for this one. Big thick burger and grilled just right. Filled me up. Jessica was our waitress and did a great job, very attentive for water and coffee refills. Plenty of parking and right on the main drag. Comfortable atmosphere and good prices. A-ONE!!!

On a Sunday afternoon. Not very busy which was great. Ordered chicken fried steak, potatoes and bacon with over easy eggs. The gravy was very good and the bacon and eggs were cooked just as I asked them to be. The chef even came out to my table to make sure that’s how I wanted them. Right on! Enjoyed the meal and the customer service! I’ll be back.

Waitress was not really on top of her game. No breakfast even though we got there at 1 and breakfast was served till 2 pm. Half a cup of coffee. Wow. Burger was ok. Fries were cold. Hmm.

I’m not reviewing the restaurant themselves, but the staff that participated in preparing food for our military servicemembers at the nearby military base. They were very friendly, prepared plenty of food that tasted great, and most importantly, offered one of the best selections of condiments and hot sauces I’ve ever seen for chow served to military. For servicemembers, hot sauce is a particularly important aspect of chow and instead of just having it just available, we had over half a dozen sauces to choose from. Their service really brought up the spirits of myself and my other fellow servicemembers. I may very well return to that area not as a military servicemember, but as a traveler in need of some good food and seeking the solace of such friendly staff.
