Maggie’s is a super cute tiny elevated restaurant. The food it absolutely delicious. I could eat that salad all day every day. They have vegan options which we very much appreciate. Drinks are great. Service was great too. Will be back.

We went to Maggie’s for dinner and had high expectations, as the experience started very strong. The duck cassoulet appetizer was excellent and really impressed us with its depth of flavor. Unfortunately, the entrées fell short. The lamb had an excessively large section of inedible fat, and the ribeye lacked flavor. It’s a shame, as the atmosphere is beautiful and cozy and the overall vibe is very inviting. I would recommend Maggie’s more for wine and appetizers rather than a full dinner.

Small and cozy restaurant with authentic wall designs and welcoming severs.
The food is one of a kind, They have a nice presentation of the plate and the taste is alright. It was a bit expensive thought.
The chocotorta was extremely sweet . Overall a great for a special dining. experience.

By far the fanciest small restaurant in Tahoe. The food was incredible. Short rib, duck cassoulet, salmon. Great friendly service as well.
Come here for the atmosphere and for the food.

My husband and I came here the first night of our honeymoon. The food, atmosphere and staff were so wonderful that we decided to come back for dinner on the last night of our honeymoon and were not disappointed. We ordered different food and drinks the second night and had a different waiter but were just as pleased as we were the first night. If you’re looking for a unique place off the beaten path I cannot recommend this place enough.

This spot in Tahoe is truly a gem and a must-visit if you find yourself in the area. Reservations are highly recommended due to very limited indoor seating, ensuring you won’t miss out on their exceptional dishes.

Start your meal with the Chicken Fried Pork Belly – a standout dish that delivers rich, crispy, and savory flavors reminiscent of country fried steak but elevated with the lusciousness of pork belly. The combination is nothing short of divine and will leave a lasting impression.

Next, try the Short Rib Beni, a creative twist on eggs Benedict featuring tender short ribs that meld beautifully with the classic components, offering a delicious and satisfying experience that’s both familiar and unique.

For a sweet finish, the French Toast here is fluffy and flavorful, topped with fresh fruit and a strawberry sauce that adds a perfect balance of sweetness and freshness to the dish.

Overall, this restaurant balances casual and elegant vibes with heartfelt hospitality and seasonal, contemporary American cuisine. The quality and presentation of the food are masterful, making it well worth the price in this tourist destination. Be sure to book ahead and savor these remarkable flavors-you won’t be disappointed

Food is delicious, I would say I one of my favorites spots in South Lake Tahoe. The first day I came for breakfast and I come back for dinner in the same day and I found a pleasant experience in both scenarios.

My entire dish was off. Under cooked eggs, over cooked everything else, had to send it back because they were going to fix 1 thing at a time. First biscuit was like a rock. Chose it because it was dog friendly but way overpriced for what we got. Cappuccino wasn’t even great. My son said his chicken sandwich was seriously disappointing and lacking flavor. Will not return.

Cons: Location is difficult. Street parking only in busy Tahoe for restaurant patrons. Cold the whole meal, like real cold. Sitting for early lunch the whole time in late April with a full long down coat on, too cold to take it off bc we were seated in a side area with a flimsy door that doesn’t close and the staff pays no attention to it being closed so stays part open the whole time ( picture below) with a wicked draft. Like the whole time. I would have taken a picture each time but don’t want to bore. I had to get up the whole meal to close it. Annoying, and ruins the experience. Coffee didn’t help.
Pros: Food is great. Like real good. Bougie options, lots of flavor. Staff is kind and the prediction on wait time was accurate, AND they have a great kids menu. Many thanks for that. Maybe just go on a warm day, then it won’t matter.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hidden Casual Gem in South Lake Tahoe

Maggie’s is one of those rare spots that quietly delivers an exceptional experience without any pretension. A true hidden casual gem that deserves way more recognition.

The food is outstanding. The smoked salmon toast was beautifully done—fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced with pickled onions, capers, and herbs that elevated every bite. The steak and eggs were cooked exactly right: tender, flavorful steak, crispy potatoes, and rich, runny eggs that brought the whole plate together. Simple dishes executed at a very high level.

The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, making it the kind of place you can enjoy whether you’re starting your morning slow or sitting down for a proper brunch. Service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, which only added to the experience.

Located at Desolation Hotel, Maggie’s is also extremely dog friendly—both the hotel and restaurant make it easy to enjoy a great meal without leaving your pup behind, which is a huge bonus.

If you’re in South Lake Tahoe and want great food, great energy, and a place that feels effortlessly right, Maggie’s is an absolute must.
