This place is has a very home vibe. Everyone is super nice. Upon entry, you are greeted with a ‘sit wherever you like’ from someone that you cannot see. Although our waitress was very nice, I don’t think she understood my order. Their shrimp street taco normally come with raw cilantro and onions on them. I asked for them on the side and the red cabbage and green aioli sauce added to my tacos on flour tortillas. They brought everything as a side and corn tortillas. The aioli sauce was their green salsa verde. Two different things. The hubby ordered the tacos usa and was not pleased with how the meat tasted. The complimentary salsa had big chunks of vegetables in it. The queso dip was absolutely amazing! We loved that!!

I’ll start off by saying as we ate, the guy who runs the place was friends with every single person that walked through the door. Nice guy, friendly as can be. Our second time there and the food was by far the best Mexican we’ve ever had. The chorizo queso, Chile Colorado, and Tuscan Chimichanga were phenomenal and all the food was made fresh to order. We’re only in town for a few months but we’ve made it a point to eat here once a week. You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic food! Everything is full of flavor! Even the beans and rice are seasoned perfectly, not the typical ordinary rice and beans you get from other Mexican restaurants. The street corn is DELISH! So good and plenty to share! If you’re a sweet tea drinker, you’ll appreciate the fresh brewed tea!
Service is very friendly, genuine, and accommodating!

Maestro is possibly the perfect word for this place. The most magnificent Mexican dishes around. Their grilled steak was delicious, the burrito fillings phenomenal, topped off with house made salsa, hot sauce, and pico de gello made it over the top!!! If you are in Portsmouth you have to stop by Maestro’s Mexican Grill. I know I will. Oh, and on Thursday they make barrera tacos!!!

Awesome atmosphere. Beer truck was running behind so they didn’t have what I wanted, but all beer taste the same when your smashing some awesome pork street tacos. Will definitely be back anytime I’m in town.

Wish I could give this even more stars! Lalo is a delight, really want above and beyond looking after our boisterous group. The food was excellent, as were the margaritas. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town!

Honestly, I’m not a big fan. The staff is always nice and they’re attentive, but the food hasn’t been great for me. The first time, there was a hair in the salsa. The second time, the plate my food was on had steam coming off it, but the food was lukewarm. This last time, I got the burrito California and the steak was burnt black.

They catered our friends wedding last weekend and it was so delicious we had to come try it out for ourselves. 10/10 recommend. The server was great, the food was amazing, the place is so clean and cozy! We Definitely found our new favorite spot.

this place may be the best restaurant food-wise that I’ve had in Portsmouth. fresh ingredients, original recipes, beautifully served and excellently made. the selection of other Mexican restaurants may be more plentiful, you won’t find a Chile rellano or an enchilada, but the focus on a more limited menu contributed a lot to the high quality of the food they do have.
its truly worth it. can’t wait till they have margaritas!
