Maelo’s Pizza, a food truck in Kendall, was such a great find. The service was warm and welcoming, and I tried the pepperoni hot honey pizza absolutely exquisite. The balance between savory and sweet is spot on, elevated by creamy stracciatella and a drizzle of honey that ties everything together beautifully. Simple, bold flavors done right. Definitely coming back for more.

I was really looking forward to trying Maelo’s Wood Fire Pizza, but unfortunately my experience was a letdown from start to finish. I ordered two pizzas—the Margherita and the Hot Pepperoni—and neither came close to what was advertised. The photos on the website show fresh, handcrafted wood-fired pies, but what I received looked more like frozen boxed pizzas.
The quality just wasn’t there. The crust was flat and lifeless, the toppings were sparse, and there was none of the flavor or texture you’d expect from a wood-fired product. Based on the pictures, I expected something authentic and appetizing, but the actual food didn’t resemble what was shown at all.
For the price and the hype, this was a major disappointment. I hope the restaurant can improve the consistency and deliver what they advertise, but I won’t be ordering again anytime soon.

Maelo’s Pizza is the kind of place that reminds you why food trucks exist in the first place. Simple setup, serious craft, and unforgettable flavor. Tucked away in Kendall, this firewood pizza truck delivers pizzas that rival some of the best brick-and-mortar spots in South Florida.
From the first bite, it’s clear this is not ordinary pizza. The crust is the star, perfectly blistered from the wood fire, light yet tasty, with that subtle smokiness you only get from real firewood. The sauce is balanced and clean, not too sweet, not too acidic, and the ingredients taste fresh and intentional. Every topping feels like it belongs exactly where it is.
What really sets Maelo’s apart is consistency and restraint. Nothing is overdone. Nothing is rushed. Each pizza feels thought out, as if the goal isn’t just to feed you, but to impress you. That’s rare, especially from a food truck.
If you’re serious about pizza, Maelo’s Pizza should be on your short list. Honestly, it belongs in the conversation for top must-try pizza spots in all of South Florida, not just Kendall. This is firewood pizza done right, and it’s worth going out of your way for.

Very nice and clean outdoor space, service with a smile and the pizza is delicious. We ordered the caprichosa and margherita. Poured on the spicy oil… it really is the BEST! We dined in and took a pizza home.

The pizza was delicious and hot! If you are looking for fresh, made to order wood fired pizza, this is your spot. The best part is it’s a family owned business, if you like supporting a small family owned business, I would definitely recommend!

I usually stop by with my friends every two weeks, sometimes after work, to enjoy their delicious pizzas. It’s a fantastic pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven. You should definitely stop by and try it. You’ll love the place they run as a family. You can be sure they’ll always greet you with a smile and serve you their carefully prepared pizzas.
Outstanding job!! ☺️
