We came on a Sunday, it is somewhat busy. The location has a few small Thai stands. We ordered the mango sticky rice coconut cakes and green onion coconut cakes. They are $10 ( each has around 8 pieces ).

The coconut cakes are sweet , creamy and flavorful, they made it right in front of you so they come out warm. The mango is sweet and not sour so we are satisfied. Remember to bring cash cause they accept cash & zelle. After they take your order, they give you a ticket and they make your food. You just need to bring that ticket to get your food.

The wait is around 25 minutes for the food, and there are 3 long tables next to the stand so you can eat there. We walk around the Thai grocery store across the coconut cake stand when waiting for food.

It is a nice place to experience some Thai coconut cakes! Would recommend this place.

It says cash only, but they do accept Zelle payments! Super hole in the wall place with delicious coconut cakes, I’ve tried the regular ones and the mango sticky rice ones and they’re so yummy! They have other types and there’s BBQ skewers as well, though I haven’t tried them.

I’ve been here a few times and it never disappoints! The coconut cakes are chewy and not too sweet. Usually takes them 10-20 minutes to make them for you. Also in the same stand, there’s a BBQ stand with really tasty grilled meats, and a stand that sells tom yum noodles, fried foods, and thai desserts. Make sure you go to an ATM before coming because they’re cash only. They’re only open on weekends.

I was there around 9:05 but the lady said that the cake would be ready in 25 minutes cos they just opened. Okay, so I waited. Then I got the cakes, but it doesn’t taste as delicious as I thought. I feel a little bit disappointed ☹️

Mai’s Coconut Cakes is a few tents on the side of the Thai supermarket. They have a free parking lot that was pretty empty when we went around Sunday noon. It’s cash only and they serve amazing Thai bbq, fried coconut cakes, fried fish balls, sticky rice, and more. We ordered the the bbq pork and chicken, coconut cakes, and fried yellowtail, which was deep fried fish paste. All of it was very tasty and the portions were sizable, good for two or three people. Their hours are very specific so double check before you go.
They also had a cat chillin around.

Superb Thai delicacy– get some coconut cakes to share with friends! They’re soft and sweet. This shop is located in the parking lot of the LAX-C plaza about .5 mile from Union Station.

You can also get other authentic street delicacies like real Thai Papaya salad (authentic = ask for the for the fermented crab–it imparts thd authentic flavor), choose spice level, made right there for you. Satay meat is also available by the skewer here bbq’d in front of you.

Venture inside to check out the little cafeteria offering traditional Thai food rarely found outside Thailand! Not your normal noodle dishes, spicy fish, chicken, and vegetarian ragout-style over rice, roasted fish, and desert + dumplings. Also fresh made Thai chili paste mixes handmade here!

Outside try Brickhouse coffee, or E-Sea Fresh for the Thai version of Tom yum, duck soup, Drunken Noodles, Kao Moo, Curry, and comfort deserts and drinks. These places are where Thai folks eat in Los Angeles. Affordable.

Updated 2023.12.15. Very sloe laborious process of making these small coconut Cakes individually. Pretty sweet but not quite over the top.

This place was somewhere I chose spontaneously since I wanted a coconut flavored dessert and I’m so glad I came here. I came right at closing time and they were kind enough to let me get two boxes. These taro coconut cakes were super delicious and very reasonably priced; my eyes widened as soon as they gave me a sample because it tasted so good. Would highly recommend!

Happened to be nearby and remembered that I had saved this place. And yes, the freshly made coconut cakes were incredibly delicious! Crispy outside with soft interior permeated with the aroma of coconut. Try them!
