The food is outstanding. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and clearly made with quality ingredients. The steaks are seriously the BEST steaks in town! The sides and appetizers are just as impressive. When you go, definitely try the bacon tasting! It’s a fun and surprisingly elevated way to start your evening. With different flavors and preparations that set the tone for the whole meal, you’ll thank me later.
What really stood out though was the service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. They made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. The owner even came by to introduce himself.
In a city full of restaurants, Mae Daly’s stands out for getting the basics right: great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to and recommending to friends.
Each course came in one hour at a time. The atmosphere was noisy and overstimulating. Tables were super close to each other that when you pass you can almost touch the other table with your body. Forget being romantic here bc you won’t be able to hear your date. For the theme, I only see a few pics of Mae Daly and read only one story. There was a video playing outside but not sure who that was. The menu cover was plain black leather. The branding needs a little more to it.
The service needs a real overhaul. The valet people were nice. The server, although she is nice, seems like she has a lot of table to tend to. Our water was replenished after 30 minutes or so. We felt like we are waiting in an emergency room and the nurses just pass by ignoring us. I wish there is a persone designated for each task, as it seems that they are understaffed. The server was apologetic for the wait, however the manager was not. He checked on us after two hours of sitting down, and when we told him everything was just “alright” he exclaimed “just alright?!” And walked away lol. Didn’t even ask us how they can make it better or even apologize.
And the timeline for orders:
7:20 we got sat and server came in a few mins to take our order
1st app 8:13
Oyster rockefeller served slightly cold and salty
Ahi Tuna with crackers was delcious but salty.
My wife starts to lose her mind by this time.
8:45 wedge salad
Actually good but took so long to arrive. Its mindblowing to think how this got served late when its a salad. I start to lose my mind as well, and we were contemplating of walking out. Wife went to the bathroom and said no tissue.
9:48 our steaks arrived.
We got dry aged bone in rib eye and the wet aged rib eye. The dry aged was delicious, it has this exotic umami note to it. The wet aged ribeye was good, but nothing special. We specifically requested the fat on the edge to be seared but I dont think they got that memo. The side was potato au gratin and its delicious. The truffle carrots were just regular braised carrots, cant even tell that it has truffle on it.
Btw, the steak sauces and carrots came after the steak was served, not with it. All of the food we ate here came warm.
We canceled dessert. Got a to go box, and the plastic bag was the one you get from a chinese take out place. I was expecting a paper bag atleast. Speaking of a paper bag, they gave us a goodie bag on the way out with a chocolate and blueberry muffin. That was a nice treat and the best part of the night.
Overall, the food is okay, dry aged rib eye was great, the rest is forgettable. The service ruined our Valentine and my wife was hangry 80% of the time. Save your hard earned money and dine somewhere else.
And I want to make sure you start with the Piedmontese Beef Tartare. I was just being polite when it was brought out, and then I ate my part and my sister’s! AND! The Mushroom Risotto will change your life! So good! Have Rich tell you about how it’s made and why it deserves its own spotlight. I’m thinking Mae Daly’s Fine Steaks and Mushroom Risotto!!! I could stop right there and just tell you NOT to miss Mae Daly’s, but it was so much more.
We made two new friends at the bar. I fell in love with Tommy the bartender. He took the best care of us! And all the others too. Warm, genuine, sweet, sweet guy! And even though we were at the bar, we met the darling servers Taylor and Olivia, too. The atmosphere and the way they work together made it such a special night; service matters to me, and they’re exceptional. Lastly, the chef came out and we were able to appreciate him too
We came here to celebrate our wedding. From the time we arrived at the valet (free- tip them!) to when we left, this experience was wonderful! The owner seated us and was so pleasant and friendly. It is definitely one of the best meal experiences we have had. The atmosphere was so pleasant. Live music was great. We started with the bacon appetizer. It is an absolute must! The peppered bacon-OMG!!!!!!!! I had the beet salad and my husband had the French onion soup. Both were so tasty. The steaks were amazing and cooked perfectly! We had the dry aged ribeyes. The Grand Marnier soufflé was to die for. The wine list was great and we had an excellent bottle. My husband would give them a Michelin star if he could. Service was superb. We plan on going back for our anniversary. Go here. You will have a wonderful dining experience!
