The cozy, candlelit vibe makes it perfect for date night or catching up with friends. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The wine list is great, the service is warm, and the whole experience feels elevated without being pretentious. Can’t wait to go back.

Madrigal is a beautiful intimate restaurant. I went there with my sister for her birthday dinner and we both enjoyed everything. The waiter and the cook were very professional and friendly. The food was excellent! I had Lasagna and a Caesar salad and my sister had wine and a pepperoni pizza! I enjoyed everything so much, I am bringing my mom there when she comes to visit me. Thank you for a great evening!

Yeah i mean where do you begin with a place like this…a hole in the wall that you would not know even existed. We ate here and had such an amazing experience. Staff was very friendly and was always checking in. They use pretty quality ingredients and you could tell. The pesto meatballs were great, the lasagna was amazing, the Caesar salad was delicious..but the real showstopper was the pizza. We got the Calabrese pizza and let’s just say we want to come back and work our way through ever pizza because it was just that good. Good wine list as well with a diverse selection from Italy and France. Dine here if you haven’t!!!

This will probably receive a harsh rebuttal from the owner as others have experienced when they don’t rave about this place but just know I have worked in the restaurant business for 40 years and know a thing or 2. Firstly, we arrived at 5 for our 5:00 reservation and there was an employee’s backpack and wine opener on the table in front of us on the couch we were told to wait at while they were getting ready. No bigggie but open at 5 ready at 5. After 10 minutes we were shown to a table and ordered 2 wines by the glass, the meat lasagna and a Margherita pizza with a Caesar to start. The ambiance was nicely low lit and we had no issues with the Caesar but after sampling thousands of pizzas around the world I can safely say this was the worst tasting “pizza” I’ve ever put in my mouth. The flatbread was undercooked but more importantly had a thick tomato pasty sauce slathered all over it that tasted like they emptied half a salt shaker onto the whole thing before topping it with cheese. After scraping all the sauce off it was still barely edible so we moved onto the lasagna which had eggplant and other veggies in it (strangely) in addition to what tasted like olives. When we asked for the bill it had an entree we never ordered on it. Huh booey. The young servers were very pleasant and energetic but we couldn’t wait to leave. No complaining at the time after reading that other Google reviewers were almost removed for trespassing for their negative comments. I hope the pizza section is changed to flatbread with descriptions of saltiness to alert future guests

Make sure you have a reservation. This place is very popular and it might have no immediate availability when you arrive. Very genuine Italian flavor and atmosphere. Both the pizza and beef lasagna were delicious. Very good bruschetta too, the sauce here was the differential factor. The personnel was kind and attentive. 100% recommended if you like Italian food and you are in downtown Columbia .

My husband took me here for my birthday! I love Italian food and their food was fantastic. We ordered the meatballs for the app. They are decently sized and come with a delicious red sauce. We ordered the mushroom and steak pizza with rosé sauce and it’s probably some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! (Cauliflower crust available) (I’m still bummed we left our leftovers). My dinner course was the eggplant with beef (8/10; my options were limited as I have a gluten sensitivity, and I’m not a big fan of eggplant but still a good dish!) and my husband had the lasagna.
I really enjoyed the intimate setting and our waiter Ash (hope I got that right) was hilarious!

So many wonderful things to say about this restaurant. Columbia is very lucky to have a restaurant like this. We caught them just before the kitchen closed and didn’t even realize it until we left because we were welcomed with such open arms. Sorry, guys! The restaurant is cozy and unassuming, making it very clear that their priorities are exactly where they should be- on the quality of food and service. The dishes are unique and well-executed, exceeding our hopes! I hear the menu changes often so we will be back soon- and not close y’all down next time!

We dined here when we heard they have ube cheesecake! As someone who grew up with ube as one of my family’s favorite desserts, I was not disappointed, it was delicious! It’s exciting to see them expanding and introducing new flavors to the local community. The service was great and the ambiance is very cozy. I truly hope more people in Columbia discover and support this wonderful local restaurant!
