TLDR: Delicious brunch with excellent service. Kimberly and Simon made the experience wonderful. Food, drinks, and ambiance are worth it, but avoid sitting outside if flies bother you.

This review is long overdue. I was visiting LA with a friend and we decided on this brunch spot after seeing the photos and positive reviews. We chose to sit outside, and unfortunately there were a lot of flies. I was overstimulated and it ruined my appetite, but I have to say the food itself was very delicious.

Our server Kimberly H was kind and attentive. The manager on shift, Simon, was also amazing. He noticed my discomfort and did his best to make things right, which I really appreciated.

The ambiance can get really bustling, especially during busy hours, but that is part of the charm if you enjoy lively brunch spots. The fruit salad and orange mimosa were also delicious. I do not usually like the taste of alcohol, but the mimosa was light and enjoyable.

Overall, I highly recommend this place. The food and service are fantastic. Just be mindful about sitting outside if you cannot handle flies or at least until they address the issue. I had the salmon toast and my friend ordered the sampler toast, both of which were a fantastic start to the morning.

Reagan was absolutely amazing! My best friend and I came in for my birthday brunch, and she made the whole experience perfect. She took our orders quickly, made sure we got our drinks right away, and ensured our food came out hot and fresh. Even while multitasking — taking photos, working the room, and managing everything — she never missed a beat!

She truly went above and beyond to make our brunch special. My Bestie ✨ says five stars all around, and our Guy Bestie ✨ said “all my stars, all out!” Thank you, Reagan, for making my birthday brunch so fun and memorable! That’s 15 stars all round

Had to check this place out and understand what the hype was all about. I must say, this place was worth the hype. Great food and ambiance. It has a vibe to it. Worth visiting over and over again.
The place was bustling with people. We ordered the vegan Chile relleno omelette, Chilaquiles rojos, Cappuccino with oat milk and hot chocolate. Food was very, very delicious. Their portions were good and can be filling depending on what you order. Loved that they had a vegan section on their menu.
I felt as if they were less on staff. Their staff were extremely busy. One of them was nice and the other one could use some improvement.

My dine in experience was terrible from start to finish. When we arrived, I ordered pancakes that were supposed to come with chocolate syrup and an avocado toast. Instead of a normal slice of bread for the toast, they used an extremely thick bread that’s typically used for French toast. I honestly believe they ran out of the right bread and just used whatever they had—it was disgusting.

Then, when my pancakes finally arrived (after waiting about 45 minutes to an hour), they had a scoop of chocolate ice cream on top instead of syrup. When I asked why, the server said they ran out of chocolate syrup. They didn’t even ask if I was okay with that substitution—they just brought it out like it was normal….i sent it back

The service was painfully slow, and the food was a complete disappointment. I will never go back to Madre’s Brunch. Avoid this place at all costs.

Ordered: Verde Chilaquiles and Pistachio Waffles. Chilaquiles were not crispy at all. Dry not wet. Not spicy whatsoever. Pistachio waffles was dissatisfying. Waffle batter had food coloring and pistachios on top with pistachio ice cream. Fun fact: partner had some pistachio shells in his food.
Atmosphere: Open and dog friendly. Nice decorations.

On vacation in California, our last day in LA we decided to hit up Long Beach to find a place for lunch. We had no idea where we’re going, we were walking around the city and we happened to Google places nearby, and this little gem popped up. Had chilaquiles for the first time. I guarantee I will order that again, it was absolutely amazing. They are pet friendly, the service was good, and the food was incredible.

We stopped here on a weekend morning because it looked like a popular spot for locals. Inside ambience appealing but we sat in a tent outside. The food we ordered was unique to us. Although it tasted very good, portions were ridiculously minimal in proportion to the price.

Met up for Sunday Brunch with my friend from San Diego who recommended this place…. Heard about it from social media posts so always wanted to try

Bright pink Logo and trendy atmosphere, this is the newest Madres Brunch located in Downtown Long Beach. There was a dance competition going on that weekend so the wait time and place was packed. But it was worth the wait…and we werent in a hurry.

Friendly servers, orders taken and coffees were served quickly after we were seated. Tried the birria chilaquiles verdes and split an order of the french toast…. Portions are huge so come hungry or be prepared to bring some leftovers home Place is small so a bit cramped and noisy but I enjoyed seeing what the other customers ordered too

This place recently opened and is probably one of the popular spots downtown… Would highly recommend 5 stars

Listen, if you want breakfast or brunch, DON’T GO hungry and be prepared to wait a while. We waited 90 minutes for a seat just to be ignored for the next 25 minutes. The restaurant is very small and covered seating outside. We sat inside. It’s loud and chaotic with no structure or balance. The host and servers need some serious customer service training, but that comes from the very top. Im guessing she was the manager who came out on the dining floor looking so comfy in her sweats, soaks, and sandals, like she came from doing a load of wash. They’re all taking a cue from her, and it shows in all areas of the restaurant. The the food was ok, cold and our food didn’t come out together. There were so many issues going on, so many waiting people, in such a small space, it’s just not worth the headache or toothache from all the sugar across the menu.

Saturday around 10, we waited about 10 minutes for 2. We got the mimosa flight, the gold bowl, and the eggs Benedict. The mimosas were delicious, if we weren’t going somewhere else afterwards we definitely would have got another round. The salmon and avocado on the gold bowl was fantastic, seasoned well, and a light alternative for brunch. The eggs Benedict also came w salad instead of potatoes, and the Benedict itself was flavorful. Also on the less expensive side compared to other nearby brunch locations.
