The mole negro had a deep, smoky, complex flavor. The molito de camarone was spicy and delicious. Cocktails are great too and service was attentive and friendly. We loved it!!

Stopped for happy hour and had some excellent appetizers, tacos and drinks. Happy hour items were 5-8 dollars each. We sat outside. Strongly recommended. Update: we stopped in for dinner. Everything was really fresh and authentic. Definitely recommend.

Awesome family Oaxacan place in Palms. I’ve been many times and have loved their barbacoa, chips and guac, and mole. Their happy hour has really good tacos. They change their menu frequently, so be sure to schedule multiple visits!

Bar server was excellent. Made an outstanding 10/10 Cadillac Margherita. Let me try samples of the chili syrup (nice spice, nice sweet) and marghs sweetener (tasted like orange creamsicle). Burrito was 8/10 but still very tasty. Will go out of my way to come back.

Wonderful service and great authentic food. This is authentic Mexican food that’s full of seasoning and flavor. I definitely recommend stopping by during happy hour to try the smaller plates and order a bit of everything.

The staff is pleasant and polite.
Outside seating is available. No dedicated parking lot so you’ll have to park around the corner and walk. My
On average, you’ll spend about $25 a person

Our waiter, Juan, was great! He explained the menu, offered suggestions, and more.
I am a huge fan of Mole’ sauce and they have FIVE different styles.
I tried a plate with three mole’ options. I chose chicken breast as my meat choice. It was fabulous!
The presentation was great, the food was amazing, and Juan made it perfect.
I’m going back Friday!

Amazing food, no frills environment, and wonderful service. If you’re looking for Oaxacan food, this is a solid spot. Portions were perfect and food was well made. Flavors were on point and delicious. We visited for weekend brunch and were not disappointed. Give it a try!

The atmosphere of this restaurant is spot on. Even though it’s a small space, it’s well distributed and they made good use of the space. The food was great. I had the black mole and a mezcal margarita (pic included). We also had the guac and chips, and the queso flameado. The guac tasted really good and homemade. The queso was amazing. Very flavorful and good quality of the basic ingredients. Our server had a great attitude and provided a very good service. The dishes very definitely shareable as portions were big enough for two people if you have an appetizer or a side dish.

3.75/5 for food but rounded up because the atmosphere and service was nice
really good, recommend:
– any mezcal cocktails
-squash blossoms appetizer
-chile Serrano green salsa & red salsas
The chapulines (crickets) were tiny and too lime-y; the cecina in the tlayuda was dry, and the overall taste was rather bland/boring. I wish they had a nut-free mole option, I think that’s probably the entree to get at Madre
I think they could also benefit from lower entree prices and flour tortillas as a substitution option (the corn tortillas are dry, bland, and too crackly)
