Madras Jungles in Interlaken is an absolute delight for anyone who loves authentic Indian vegetarian and vegan cuisine. We tried several paneer dishes and a dosa, along with some delicious appetizers — and everything was outstanding! Each dish was bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors and perfectly balanced spices. It’s rare to find a fully meat-free restaurant with such variety and creativity, and every bite tasted homemade with love and care. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, making the experience even better. The location is super central, easy to reach from anywhere in Interlaken, and the cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for a relaxed meal. If you’re looking for wonderful vegetarian or vegan food in the heart of Interlaken, Madras Jungles is a must-visit!

What a gem of a place! Hands down the best Indian restaurant in Interlaken. I live here and have tried many of the Indian spots around, and this one is definitely my favorite 🙂

The naan is absolutely legit – fluffy, fresh, and flavorful – and their dosa is incredible too. Honestly, every dish tastes so fresh and full of love. We ordered the Panner butter masala and the Dahl Makhani – so delicious! They also have free flow Chai! You can really tell they use quality ingredients and cook with care and love.

The staff are also really friendly, and the whole place just has such good vibes.

Highly highly recommend! ☺️

WARNING! Tourist trap!! Name is Madras Jungle, there is nothing related to Madras nor Jungle. The place had everything related to other places in India, but nothing related to Madras. Not even a poster. I am not talking about the food, because it is the worst. Walk few minutes from there, you will find authentic South Indian food places. The Mysore masala dosa was the worst. Uncooked raw veggies. Again nothing related to Mysore as well! The spices is actually North Indian. Please walk
Away! Only good thing is the service! But we are there to eat, bit just for service.

If you are here for dosas/idlis etc, expect a Punjabi spin on your favorite South Indian dishes! Definitely tasty, but I didn’t expect bell pepper in a Mysore masala dose 😀

Sambar and chutneys were quite tasty. If I had to nitpick, the drumsticks in the sambar were cut too short, making it a little awkward to discard after getting all the pulp.

Fresh lime soda was a little bitter, I couldn’t finish it. Complimentary chai was 10/10 🙂

Had a fantastic meal at Madras jungle.

The service was great, the food was amazing and it was overall a great experience. Super super friendly, got great recs what to pick. We had our dog with us, without asking they put a waterbowl down. Attention for detail!

Would visit again 10/10.

I went when it was very quiet, around 5pm on a Sunday. I only wanted a snack so I had the samosa. Cost: 10 CHF. You get two per portion, medium size (not the large Punjabi samosa that I’m used to) but sufficient as a snack. They tasted good. The service was swift, the staff were polite and answered any questions I had about the food.
Would definitely visit again to try other items.

Great experience, kind and attentive staff!! ^^ Everything with paneer is also possible to order vegan with tofu. The tofu was super firm and filling. Everything had a great flavour. Tasty Dosa and nice sauces with it. Good portion sizes. A bit pricey in my opinion (the rice) but it is probably because it is a touristy area.

Great food. We are vegan indians and we were craving for Indian food. The food was delicious and had many vegan options to choose from. The first time we went we had dosa and biryani both were great. Second time we went we had garlic roti with Sahi tofu curry with pulav and all things were delicious. Highly recommend
