Mediocre BBQ. Not a bad price at $14.50 for a 3 meat platter. I got pulled pork that looked more like it had been run through a mixer rather than pulled, the brisket is pretty good and the chicken was meh! I got sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese as my sides. The potatoes were like baby food consistency…. The Mac and cheese was the best thing in my order. Flavorful and you can actually see the real cheese in each bite. And lastly, the corn bread was very sweet, almost like dessert. Could easily have been a store bought mix. I gave them 3 stars because the Mac and cheese was delicious and the brisket was better than I was expecting after eating the pork and chicken. Probably won’t be returning!

On Monday I stumbled upon Madison’s Smoke BBQ recently craving BBQ food. Most of the BBQ places in my area were closed so I traveled from Wilmington to Newark to get some good BBQ.
I was greeted by Madison and purchased 2 meat, 2 sides and cornbread combo (brisket and pulled pork). Let me tell you… When I tasted the Mac and cheese and brisket it felt as though I had been transported to a family barbeque. This place is a hidden gem and was worth the travel!! If you find yourself craving BBQ on a Monday this is a great place to go!!

Absolutely amazing!! Their brisket and sweet potatoes are perfection!! Everyone should try Madison’s Smoked Barbecue!! They now serve Water ice!! So yummy!!!

The good here is amazing. I wondered in one day and I’m not even a big fan of BBQ type foods but I was soo good. The pork was phenomenal and ive never gad chicken so tender in my life. Truly tastes like a hearty home cooked meal. After my first visit I couldn’t wait to drive in the area to stop back in! Definitely recommend trying it out!

My wife and stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Counter people were friendly, service was great. We both had brisket and pulled pork platters with greens and mac & cheese. The food was delicious, next time I’m around this way I will definitely eat here.

Not the best barbecue I’ve ever had. But it’s ok for a quick fix it you’re in a hurry and low on cash. I will probably return but it won’t be a regular stop for me.
UPDATE: on my second visit, still not impressed. I have to question their cooking methods because nothing seems to be ‘smoked’ or ‘bar-b-cued’. It is as if everything is boiled or cooked in a crock pot, and then splashed with cheap sauce. The only redeeming factor is the baked beans (do not get the cole slaw).
The service is quick and the staff is friendly. The place itself is clean and comfortable.
If you have never had real southern BBQ, then this place will be fine for you. Otherwise, skip it.

Stopped by with coworkers on a one day trip for work. The woman behind the counter was friendly and welcoming, and the food was scrumptious. The brisket cuts were thick and tasty, and the BBQ sauce was incredible.

Have eyed this place for a while and finally stopped in. Ordered take out, rack of ribs, Mac-n-cheese and greens. All was awesome, will definitely stop in again and try something new. Will also recommend to others. Family owned, love to support family owned business.

Stopped in for a brisket sandwich, greens and cornbread muffins. Five star’s are not enough. The brisket was so tender and just the rite amount of smoke and sauce. The greens are delicious perfect blend of greens and smoked turkey. And the corn muffins Mmmmm not overly sweet like some places think corn bread should be. Thanks Madison finally a BBQ Joint in Newark that does it rite. Oh almost forgot service that was outstanding.
