Cute old building with nice casual and cozy feeling inside. Staff were all incredibly friendly and helped suggest some of their favorites. The food I had was good, I had the basket with fried scallops and fish. The color of the batter was perfect golden (so, good on them for keeping clean fryers!) The food here was very close to five stars, I just wish the fish serving had been a little crisper (the batter was a little soggy in spots, but still edible). I think for the overall plate portion, the price was good…HUGE amount of fresh cut fries. Nice spot for lunch while in the beautiful little town of Port Royal.

The food wasn’t as impressive as I was anticipating. Had plans to visit here for a few weeks. My Mai Mai entree seemed dry and over cooked. The fried brussel sprouts were cold. The waiter apologized and took them back and returned immediately with more cold brussel sprouts. They were tasty, would’ve been much better somewhere between warm and hot. The dining area we sat in was much too warm. Granted the temps. have been in 90’s for weeks but upon leaving through a separate dining area the temperature was much cooler and comfortable. Yea, I know… The room was too warm and the food too cold…

Had the shrimp and grits. I haven’t seen it done with sausage and mushroom before but the savory leaning worked very well. All the main ingredients shined though and worked together. The staff was kind and had that southern charm. The building was a bit hard to find and it’s impossible to get those old floors looking clean. Kitchen noise carries well into the eating area which adds to the home atmosphere. I will certainly be back.

Absolutely outstanding!!! My friend was visiting and she had many dietary restrictions, including being gluten and dairy free. Madison’s has a delicious gluten free menu with many dairy free options. On top of the amazingly perfect food, the wait staff was incredibly understanding and kind. As a local, this has become my new favorite go to spot!!

The food’s not great – seems cheaply made. Salmon BLT was ok, not really any flavor and the fries were soft. The seafood pasta was disappointing – tasted more like chicken noodle soup. Friendly service though

Great setting. Service was slow… meals for the table came out at different times which kept us all waiting about ten minutes until everyone was served. Seemed like the kitchen was disorganized and/or understaffed. Food was good and well presented, but not great. But we had a fun and pleasant evening and service was friendly. We would go back.

So while the atmosphere is nice it was way too dark in there and the food there was not good. The presentation looked good but the taste was absolutely not what you would expect. There is absolutely no seasoning on any of the food. We all got something different and we all tasted each other’s and it was just not good at all . I am not one to leave a bad review but I want to be honest . One of our favorite appetizers is fried green tomatoes but theirs were not even edible. I got the shrimp and Flounder fried basket the only thing that was good in there was the fries and they were nothing special. We really love experiencing new places but we left there very disappointed. The price for the taste of the food not anywhere near what you would expect. Will not be going back.

Madison’s has some of the best food in Beaufort. The chefs really know what they’re doing and consistency is on point. Specials are always worth a try. There is a tiny bar and outdoor covered porch area that you might get lucky to eat at if you aren’t smart enough to make a reservation ahead of time. We love the calamari. We’ve enjoyed soft shell crab, mussels, ahi tuna… you just can’t go wrong here. Bartender is really great, too! Get some reservations.
