If you’re looking for a low key kinda divey, nothing too fancy spot, then this is it. We came in for happy hour and thought the $6 bites was a good value, however, the food want all that great. The mac n cheese bites and chicken tenders were basically frozen meals. And the nachos were pretty basic as well. I would hope that their entrees are better quality. The one dish I really did enjoy was the spring rolls (I think they were house made, they were good.) Other than that I did like the Alice in Wonderland theme.

Fantastic establishment. Warms my heart that Madhatter’s still very much holdin’ it down on this lil’ drag of Dupont. I remember coming here on their soft opening (2010?) when they moved from their old M street location. Same comfortable place has only gotten better with age. Mindblowingly low prices (that burger was 8 bucks), very tasty, sizeable, old school *restaurant* food. Also, easily some of the most congenial, efficient service in the galaxy. Super friendly bunch. And they’re wonderful neighbors! (I used to manage Luna next door back in its heyday.) Highly, highly recommend poppin’ by and oinkin’ out (or guzzlin’ via their excellent draft selection).

Our server was nice and attentive. My first visit and likely my last. The menu was limited, my beer was flat and the mimosas were poor in quality. The French Toast with turkey bacon was good, the habenaro wings, old bay wings were good. Spinach, okay. We had a party of 15 and the server was on point with getting us all served. The restaurant had other large parties, one who had way too much to drink, loud, and way too much movement of those guests in the dining room.

Had a great time overall. The servers could’ve been a little more attentive, but everything still worked out and we had fun. We ordered mimosas and they seemed a bit more strict with them compared to others, but it didn’t ruin the experience. Would still come back though.

False advertisement lured my friends and I in. On menu and sign outside said 30 dollars for (1) entree and open bar. But once inside bartender said sign outside and original menu were wrong. Paper menu separated open bar and entree into two different prices

Invited to a luncheon here for a group of 12. Great company and an even greater lunch! The servers were very attentive to our needs. Love the ceiling with the upside down dining table setting.

We really enjoyed our visit to The Mad Hatter. Great happy hour specials. My 9 year old really loves the Alice in Wonderland theme. Food was decent. The Texas style brisket was really good. Service was excellent. We sat in a booth at the back which wound up being somewhat of a mistake as the music is so loud that it was difficult to carry on a conversation. The bar was actually more quiet! Will definitely come back again.

Went here for brunch and I was pleasantly surprised. When you first walk in, it looked a little raggedy. The hostess, I must say was absolutely amazing and welcoming. The rest of the staff was also very friendly, however the service was a little slow when it came to refills and other requests. The music was great and had the people off their seats. The crowd was a little young, but not bad at all. The food was not great, but it was good. Half the steak was hard as a rock. I also didn’t like was the fact that I couldn’t replace my meal sides. My mango frozen drink was amazing! Will probably come back.

Stopped in for a drink but there was such an ambient and friendly atmosphere we stayed for two and ate some chili. Great vibe and very reasonable prices. They’ve been there for over 40 years and I hope to visit them next time we’re in town.
