Not only is the food amazing, the atmosphere and location in the Meat Packing District is perfect. So much life and good vibes.
The lasagna: It’s perfection! Creamy, rich in flavour, and just how you’d want this beautiful comfort food to be. Super filling. I end up getting the lasagna quite often
The pizza: Last time I got the one with eggplant gratin, tomato sauce, cashew cream and parmesan — my god! You’d never know it’s all plant based, and it tasted just like pizza should taste. I also had the one with potato and jack fruit, and it was so good! The bread was nice, crispy, and soft inside. Just beautiful.
The tiramisu: I mean.. It’s the only dessert I ever order. It’s just perfection. So rich, creamy, and so perfectly balanced. Devine. A friend and I go to Madenitaly about once a month (sometimes more) and we always get the tiramisu, because it’s just that good!
The brunch: If you are lucky enough to try their brunch (they only offer brunch every once in a while), I swear you will not be sorry! Everything from the fluffy pancakes with cream and berry compote to the quiche, is a dream come true! I have been waiting for months to get a chance to try the brunch, and it was worth the wait!
The price: More than fair quite cheap if you ask me. Especially when you consider the quality of ingredients used, the location, and how beautiful and authentic the food is. You won’t get better anywhere in Denmark.
The starters were amazing!
The carbonara is a must have.
The schnitzel was absolutely perfect. So crispy and tender.
The desserts, I had all of them and I can’t choose a favourite. Highlight to the tiramisu.
Can’t recommend enough.
Vegan or not, eat here! It’s great.
Portions are small but very tastey. Expect to spend more but samole all the wonderful options.
We felt neglected after ordering, one pizza was forgotten and they ran out of tiramsu by the tile we could order dessert (get attention to order). A massive disappointment. Deserts were very small. We had to pay at the bar which was slow and a hassle.
Service of all courses was extremely slow. We had booked for 6 at 6pm and didn’t leave until 9pm.
The lasagne and smoked mushroom pizza were particularly good. All vegan/plantbased food and all beers on tap.
It has potential as a favourite place but the speed of service was diabolically slow. I did actually like the waitress with her italian accent and she could remember what we ordered and what to drink. Not sure what caused the extreme delay but I suspect a pizza oven was out of order. Not sure what they did instead.
Toilets directions were confusing. Kødbyen is a very good location but where the restaurant starts and stops isn’t that obvious if you haven’t visited before. Not sure if the roller shutter walls can be painted. On a nice day outdoor seeing would be hip. We had rain.
Favorites were the carbonara, the tiramisu and the n’duja pizza slice.
