Edited (typo on price in original) and adjusting now that I’ve had time to think objectively…

I’ve always loved this place and supported since it opened. I’m a little disappointed with an order for my family- 1 classic heavyweight and 2 classic lightweights. They seemed to have shrunk the lightweight, to half the size of the heavyweight (used to seem more like a 10” for LW vs 12” for HW)… I could be wrong as I usually get the Heavyweight for myself, but others mentioned it seemed smaller.

Regardless, the bigger issue to me is the lightweight is $9 on the menu and heavyweight is $16 (I incorrectly put $14 in original post), while the lightweights we received are barely smaller than half of the heavyweight. The HW is on top and LW on bottom in the picture I attached. Since the lightweight is half the size, then people shouldn’t be charged extra and the price should be half. Otherwise, people paying $2 more for two lightweights will feel cheated. Granted it’s only $2, but the price after add-ons and tax is already premium. Bottom line the quality of food here is great, but the point is I could have ordered two heavyweights and paid less. I will be sharing with family/friends to avoid this from happening to them… order heavyweights and share to not be over-charged when ordering lightweights

Here is a place that clearly knows cheesesteak subs and flavor. The customer service is very laid back and easy going. If you are on the fence on what you want just pick anything and be amazed by the outcome. Will be back.

Enthusiastic Five stars. Love a good Philly steak. Nice not to have to go all the way down to Philly to get it. The classic with onions and extra cooper sharp was on point. The pictures give it no justice.

Soooo… my first and last time getting anything from here. I get a chicken cheesesteak. Pretty dry but decided to continue eating. Ate a quarter of the sandwich then bit into something hard. Took it out my mouth to find a staple. Now how does something like that happen when my bags weren’t stapled at all. Do better!!

Have heard a lot a good things about this place for the Scary Good Eats App.. You definitely have to have a game plan if you want anything here. Parking is not fun since you are in the heart of Rutgers. You have to hope you can snag a spot out front. The place itself is very small, no indoor seating, just order and you are on your way. Was not a cheap lunch for 2 sandwiches and some fries. Around $50 I believe. The sandwiches were good. Got the basic Cheeseteak with the Cooper Sharp. It was an exact amount of meat and cheese to fill the roll, which was soft and fresh. Was a solid Cheeseteak. The fries were very good as well. I will go back, but not out of my way. Very Good job for a new business.

Im so happy this joint opened up in New Brunswick. I no longer need to drive to Philly for my cheesesteak fix! Staff is highly attentive, service was quick, interior was clean, and the food was amazing

Highly recommend the Patty Melt- It was fire
You can’t go wrong with The Classic as well.

Overall my experience here was 10/10. I will definitely be back!

A Cheesesteak Lover’s Dream Come True!
If you’re a true cheesesteak fan — especially if you love Cheese Whiz — The Works at Heavy Weights Cheesesteaks is an absolute must-try. The sandwich was loaded with perfectly seasoned steak, melty Whiz, and all the fixings, coming together in that ideal balance of rich, savory, and satisfying. Every bite was indulgent without being greasy — just pure flavor heaven.

My friend went classic with provolone, and after one taste, I totally understood the hype — it was phenomenal! The bread was soft yet held up beautifully, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the whole experience felt crafted with care.

The restaurant itself was spotless and welcoming, which made the meal even more enjoyable. I left full, happy, and already planning my next visit. Heavy Weights Cheesesteaks is officially in my rotation. With love Emily & Rohail !!! Haha using my mom’s account in order for me to write this review I don’t got google !

I had a chance to try Heavyweights when it first opened but haven’t been able to make it back until tonight. I came by myself the first time and couldn’t wait to bring my son to try. We got cheesesteaks, sliders and Cajun fries. The food was delicious and the young lady working at the register was so helpful and friendly while we were trying to decide on our order. We will definitely be back!

Ordered two Philly cheese steaks classic, 2 for $7 sliders and two orders of fries( one Cajun). The Philly cheesesteaks had no flavor in the meat. Literally smelled like raw meat…4/10. The Cajun fries were OVER LOADED with Cajun seasoning. This made the fries too salty to even enjoy. Fries were just sitting on top of all that seasoning. This was terrible and gross as heck. The sliders seemed cool but the other food items are terrible in flavor. Thumbs down.
