Madame Saigon is located at the Witte de Withstraat in the city center of Rotterdam. The story of Madame Saigon started generations ago in Saigon, Vietnam. It is a family owned restaurant serving well-kept family recipes of authentic Vietnamese food, using only seasonal ingredients. The flavors are pure, fresh and intended for sharing on small and large plates. On the main floor, next to the dining area, we have a large bar serving special cocktails for you to enjoy. On the 1st floor we offer private dining and cocktail workshops.

In my life, I have almost never spent extra money or felt compelled to leave a review purely because of good service but this time, I absolutely had to. And it is entirely because of our server, Chi.
Chi is, without exaggeration, one of the best service staff I have ever encountered in all my years of dining out. Her attention to detail, genuine care, and professionalism were exceptional. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, explained everything clearly and patiently, and checked on us at exactly the right moments never intrusive, never distant. Her sense of timing and emotional intelligence are rare and incredibly impressive.
What truly stood out was how warm, sincere, and naturally kind she was. You could tell she genuinely cared about our experience, not because it was her job, but because she takes pride in what she does. She made us feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued from the moment we sat down until we left.
I came to this restaurant with my friend, and everything the food, the atmosphere, the environment, and especially the service was outstanding. We never expected that choosing a Vietnamese restaurant during our trip to Rotterdam would turn out to be one of the best decisions of our entire journey, but it truly was.
This experience would not have been the same without Chi. She elevated an already excellent restaurant into something unforgettable.
Thank you, Chi you made our meal a beautiful memory.
Highly recommended.
The meat was tender, the fried chicken dumpling fresh.
Tasty food and drinks in general, banh xeo and the lemongrass iced tea are personally my favourite. Cannot stop recommending them. A really nicely decorated restaurant as well as attentive and super friendly staff! Let them know about your allergies or whatever you cannot eat and they will just take care of it if possible.
Also a bar you can sit at (with limited space tho) and order a drink if you happen to have to wait for a table, a nice touch just saying.
Just a little side note, it could sound a bit noisy inside the restaurant when it’s packed during rush hour. You’re still able to hold a normal conversation tho. So if you don’t mind that at all then this is 100% your place to go.
I’m kinda (extremely) wack at taking nice food pictures and these pictures arent doing it any justice (not even close) and also some older pictures in between. You should just come and experience it for yourself ☺️ Totally worth it!
Service-wise, the lady who helped us was very kind and welcoming, while the boys in service came across a bit more distant. Overall, an enjoyable experience with some highlights and room for improvement.
1) Banh Xeo – Super, I couldn’t believe how delicious and fresh it was. I had it with a Viet friend of mine and we could not stop raving about it. But I don’t recommend getting the rice paper, because its €0.5 for 1 piece and given the price of the meal already, I think its better to skip.
2) pho & bun Bo hue – really bland and just not really enjoyable, would not get again
3) coconut ice cream – the taste was great, but the portion was much smaller in real life compared to the picture
4) service – really fast and caring at first, but as time went by, it went downhill. Not only did we wait around 30 minutes for the dessert, but when we asked about the dessert situation, we got a bit of an attitude from the staff. We got the feeling that since the restaurant is packed, the staff was very stressed and didn’t prioritize us anymore
The staff are super nice and friendly!!!
Our waitress was very kind and attentive, she took the time to check that we were liking and enjoying everything. Maybe I’ll come back when I visit the city again!! Thank you!!
