First time visiting this establishment. There have been a couple of owners since the original Tavernette. The inside has a fresh modern/rustic feel.
Expect to pay around $70 for two entrees, one appetizer, and two fountain drinks at dinner. They do have a bar and there was live music on the back patio on Friday evening.
The deep fried pickle appetizer was lightly coated with a dill seasoned breading and were fried nicely to an even golden brown. Two sauces were served with it. One was a light dill ranch. Unfortunately, I couldn’t figure out the flavor profile of the second sauce.
I had the New York strip steak prepared medium with the loaded baked potato and coleslaw. My steak was made as requested. Though I thought it was under seasoned. I would have liked a little more salt and pepper. The loaded baked potato was great, they even seasoned the skin. There are infamous ways to to make slaw dressing. Theirs was a mild cream dressing, well drained so it wasn’t soaking in a dressing bath.
The service was slow and I only saw our actual server twice. Once to take our food order and once checking in with us. We sat at our both for quite some time with no one stopping by. Finally, another server stopped at our table to get our beverages. Food delivered to table and checking out were done by the kitchen staff.
I plan on visiting this place again as they have Walleye on Wednesdays. Overall the experience was pleasant and the food above average. I hope as they gain more experience and confidence they will continue to grow.

We had dinner here after seeing a few recommendations on a local foodies Facebook group, and we wish we had known about it sooner – what a great find! The atmosphere, food, and service are wonderful! There’s a good craft beer selection on draft and they have a nice deck among the trees along the river, which made for a perfect, relaxing evening. There is also a semi-enclosed seating area that has clear garage doors that can be closed as the weather gets chillier so you could still have an almost-patio experience.
The menu has a really nice range of options and prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get, and everything we had was clearly made with care and thoughtful choices of ingredients. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was one of the best I’ve had. I don’t usually get excited by chicken sandwiches, but I am craving another one of these! The large portion of chicken was super moist and had unique, crispy breading that added just the right amount of crunch without being too heavy. The mayo/sauce was, I’m sure, a house-made signature type of thing, it was awesome. Their take on steak fries was also soooo good – the steak fry shape, but with slightly wavy surfaces and with kosher salt. My husband had a burger (I think it was the Tavern Burger), which I sampled, and it was extra-extra tasty and was up there with some of the best we’ve had.
The service was also very prompt, warm and friendly! I felt like I needed to share our experience because some of the reviews that show up first don’t reflect what we experienced at all. This place is a hidden gem, and this will become a regular spot for us!

Heard about your place and we decided to try your food. We drove 30 to 40 miles to get to you. We called our order in and the woman taking the order asked us how we want our burgers. We said well done. She even repeated back. We paid 37.00 for our order plus a tip. This is what we got. Nasty raw Burger . My husband took a few bites before he noticed it. So let’s hope he don’t get sick! Waste of money and time.
If I could give zero Stars I would. We never go back to this place again

I wouldn’t waste my money to come back here. When we walked in 4 employees was sitting in the front areas. They turned and looked at us didn’t acknowledge us. I said are yall open? The hostess got up said yes would you like to sit on the patio? Literally Noone inside. My husband said sure. It was windy as heck out side. But any ways we went out on the patio where there was 4 other tables that as occupied I thought It was strange they were sitting everyone outside. The waitress was quick to get our order. Then we waited 25 to 30 min she brought our food. Which was the 8 Oz steak and the pub steak. We both ordered medium well. They both came out well. My husband ate his. The waitress came back 15 min asked if I needed a box. I told her my steak was over cooked tough and chewy and the tast was like it was literally thrown on burning wood. It was awful. She left the check. I took 1 bite of it. That was it. The fries was seasoned fries not good. They didn’t care I didn’t like my food. Will not return. Out of room for further comment.

Pub pretzels, rosemary & garlic mashed potatoes, tin roof fries, Tavern burgers, and of course the beer cheese were all fantastic. This menu is fire, and I’m making the 1.25 hour drive back to try more. Even the diet mountain dew hits different here. Our server Josh was great and everything seemed to be running well even when they were short a couple of staff.

The ambience is very soothing. Server was very personable. My dinner was great not a crumb left on the plate. Come out and support this veteran owned business. You will not be disappointed.

Stopped by yesterday with our granddaughter as a last minute decision and so glad we did! The BEST fried pickles we’ve ever had! My husband got the chicken wrap and I got the Black & Blue burger with the Donkey Sauce. AMAZING! Our granddaughter ordered mac & cheese and fries and she was very happy! The service was great and everyone seemed so friendly. We don’t mind paying a little more for a local place and we will definitely be back!!

There were eight people in our party and we were all very pleased with our experience. We were seated promptly and our patient waitress had to come back a couple of times to take our order. I had catfish nuggets and fries and it was delicious! My husband really enjoyed his black and blue burger and fries. Everyone else also liked their food. I was really too full to get dessert but I did, anyway. I ordered the chocolate layer cake and tried a bite of my husbands mini key lime pie. Everything was very, very good. The atmosphere was pleasant and our service was great! Can’t wait to go back and try another meal!

Went there for dinner this evening and it was an awesome experience. The staff was friendly, attentive and our food was prepared the way we ordered. The appetizers were delicious, the burgers were just right and the Walleye, with the Tavernette recipe, was exceptional. The owner checked on us and we had a chance to chat with him for a few minutes. A good guy for sure!! We will be back!!

We showed up on a road trip from Kansas back home to New York. Stopped off the highway for some late dinner. The owner and staff were very accommodating and friendly. Despite the later hour, our food was prompt and delicious, particularly the fries! Good selection of comfortable food, well prepared. The owner was very pleasant and engaging. There was a neat, well laid out bar area, which we sat at for dinner. There was also plenty of dinner seating, including booths, tables, and bar tables, well spaced and away from the bar, if one chooses. The only problem we encountered was the parking lot was across the street and not well enough marked for us out-of-towners! If I lived locally, this would be a definite hangout.
