This is the WORST Jamaican food I’ve ever had in my life. I wouldn’t pay $5 to eat here again. I ordered over $59 worth of food on UberEats only to have the most terrible food arrive. The rice and beans is tasteless, the so called brown stew chicken is some sort of disgusting gravy chicken that is gray colored, and the beignets were covered in strawberry sauce that I didn’t ask for. The Rasta pasta and jerk chicken were also subpar but the least terrible out of all of the meal items available. These people need to stop pretending they know how to cook Caribbean cuisine. I am about to throw all this in the trash

I give this place a 3 overall but a 2/5 for the food. I received the goat curry. And the food was hot in seasoning and not in spice. And overly salty. But no appropriate spice or flavor was provided. The rice was fine. But the rice didn’t have that coconut flavoring. More on the buttery side. But it was okay. Would I order here again….no. I am first type of impression and it didn’t meet the mark

We ordered the oxtails and fried chicken for my sons. The food was awesome as always. Just added some hot sauce to the oxtails and called it a night. Try this place out.

Ordered delivery from here for the first time TODAY and did my research before doing so and to my surprise this is how my Jerk chicken rasta pasta meal arrived. I called the restaurant and first questioned how the jerk chicken meal is served,if it is the quarter leg cut up and the person said yes that’s how it’s served. I then asked why is my chicken is in pieces? Him constantly trying to make sense of what I said i asked in annoyance why is it looking like someone’s unfinished plate? THATS EXACTLY HOW IT LOOKS. He laughed at my comment and repeated what I said to someone in the background in his Jamaican patois and that person came on the phone in defense saying it’s “deboned” and that’s why it’s like that. I simply told him that’s not what you all advertised on the app and on google in your images. I reported it to uber eats. You all need to do better as a business. Never EVER was served scraps of meat from a Jamaican restaurant. The rasta pasta is just pasta in a salty creamed sauce. The rice and peas is hard. The oxtail is tasty and that’s the only reason I would barely rate you all one star. People work hard for their money, give quality service. Simple. I 100% DO NOT recommend ordering food here. Maybe when you go in they’ll know not to do this to you. Scheming big time!

The people are friendly and welcoming. It is like going to Mom and Pops for Caribbean food… It’s all cooked to order by the same people who take orders. Quality ingredients. Great spices! A bit different that we thought but recommend this place for authentic Caribbean food! We had the shrimp curry, the jerk shrimp, and the whole fried snapper!!!

Just okay. The food was fine but nothing special – I had blackened swai fillet and my wife son had curry shrimp. They recommended us their special bread which was not very special. Menu did not completely match what we actually got – my order was $3 more expensive than the menu price and did not include cole slaw which was listed on the menu.

Not impressed at all. We tried it. You know something is up when the person takes your order and then prepare and cook your order. We ordered Brown Stew Chicken and Jerk Chicken. It took about 15mins after ordering. When I opened the to-go containers I couldn’t tell the difference between the orders. Turns out the jerk chicken is baked with the wet jerk sauce that you can buy from the local grocery store and the brown stew wasn’t brown at all. I don’t know. The beef patty was good. I can say that. If you are looking for an authentic Jerk I say go somewhere else. I know some of you might disagree, but this is worth it. It’s not what I’m accustomed to. I have eaten a lot of Jamaican Jerk plenty of times while in Jamaica. This wasn’t it. A lot of the items on the menu were not available. Those items are cooked to order. A more longer wait time. Oh yeah, bring your own soap to wash your hands. There was no soap or towels in the bathroom. Best of luck.

Mad O Caribbean & Seafood is a true hidden gem in Jacksonville—non-descript from the outside, but step in and you’re transported straight to Jamaica. Chef Irie is the real deal. His conch fritters are crisp and tender with that briny sweetness you only get when they’re done right. The grilled shrimp are smoky, perfectly seasoned, and juicy, and the jerk chicken soup lands with warming spice and depth. Don’t skip the beef patties—flaky crust, savory filling—or the caramelized plantains that hit that ideal sweet-salty balance. The oxtail is the showstopper: fall-off-the-bone, rich gravy, pure comfort.

They also stock authentic Jamaican beverages, which completes the vibe, and there’s even a private room—great for small gatherings or a low-key celebration. Service is friendly, the atmosphere is unfussy, and everything tastes like it’s made with pride and tradition. If you’re craving the flavors of the islands, Mad O Seafood feels like Jamaica—authentic through and through. An absolute must-try.

We tried the jerk shrimp (with rice, beans. And cabbage), fish and shrimp plate (with cabbage potatoes and plantains), and the Mac+cheese.

All made to order, fresh and spicy just the way I like it!
