Dine in experience:
The pizza was good, and met our expectations. But the service was rough to say the least. I understand that the location thrives off of college kids but I had my family in, and there was another family as well. We heard lots of foul language from behind the counter, and the cashiers/staff were not friendly at all.
It felt like we were imposing on staff conversations when we had questions or needs. We probably won’t be back, as it’s out of our neighborhood, but we definitely won’t be searching it out.

This was my late night college meal right here (1998-2002). Twenty years later, still the best cheesesticks I’ve ever eaten.
The marinara and cheese tasted different from 20 years ago. The employee told me they have since moved location and now use a more premium marinara sauce and upgraded their mozzarella to buffalo.
Still has that nostalgic Mad Mushroom flavor and texture, but it is different than my memory serves. Still great!

I was in UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital and ordered a pizza on Jan. 28th for delivery. When the pizza arrived it was fairly warm. When I got to my room to eat it, after 1.5 pieces I was DONE! As you can see from the picture it was thin as it can be and this is the hand tossed (house) crust. Also you can see there was NO sauce to be seen let alone tasted! The edges of the crust were flat as well. My boyfriend had brought a pizza to me on Sunday, the 26th and it was a beautiful delicious pizza, hot, big crust (breadstick like), and tons of sauce (as if he ordered extra sauce) and very cheesy. Completely opposite of the pizza I received. I was also unaware they charge a “delivery fee” of $3.99 so I tipped my driver $2.00 and my total for that sorry pie was $16.42!!! When I was in UK for a liver transplant 2 yrs ago unfortunately, I had problems with their delivery. One reason I was skeptical, but the pizza my BF brought was so good! Not consistant. 🙁

Update 6/25/2024. The manager told me I am being blacklisted from ordering at Mad Mushrooms ever again because of their poor customer service. Check out my interaction with them after I tried to call them and they refused to make the order right and lied and said I was told the pizza was made incorrectly before I left the store. Just wow!

Update 9/23/2022: We received a $50 credit from an owner with an apology. Apology accepted. We used the credit for round 2 just to see if they got better and you know what they did. So maybe that day was just a fluke or a bad cook that day. This pizza was far better this time. So I think the note to self is, don’t order in advance, just order when you are ready. We have now gone back a few additional times as well. No longer a 1 star.
Update 8/4/2022: As you can see in the comments the “owner” ask for more information via email. As of this date they still have not responded to my email sent that same day. BE WARNED this is not a customer friendly place when they mess up your order.
In one word, horrible! Look at this burnt pizza. Tried to get a replacement the next day but the manager Todd wanted me to drive back down there with the pizza. I sent him a picture and Todd refuses to reply.
I got a vegetarian pizza and the taste was horrible. It tasted like all the vegetables had been watered down and no. seasoning and zero flavor. By far the worst pizza joint ever.
On a good note, the cheese sticks are really good. Todd, you owe me a refund!

I just need to brag on Corey for a second. I was having some serious trouble with DoorDash, and they told me they were booked with two orders. It has been almost an hour since my order and this was the first time I had heard from DoorDash to tell me they were “running behind”. Well, great now I’m going to get cold pizza. I called the store and spoke with Corey and told him that situation. He confirmed my order was still there and had been sitting there for quite some time. I told him I had confirmed the dasher was on her way and he offered to make the whole order over again just to make sure I didn’t get cold pizza. It was the sweetest gesture, especially when he didn’t have to. I cannot shout out this kind of service enough. Not the norm and I’m so thankful I got him. And yes, the pizza and cheese sticks were just the best! Thank you, Corey!

Got some Friday night delivery. Delivered in under 30 min. The works pizza was pretty decent. Meatball sub was disappointing, kinda like ground beef with very little flavor and some tomato sauce and mozzarella. Would give the pizza another go if I was in a hurry because the delivery was efficient.
