A few years ago I went to Mad Dogs in Macungie and was told they didn’t have hot dogs that day. It was so odd, and I didn’t care to do a video on their ice cream so I just left. Yesterday I had the chance to go back and finally check them out.
Under new ownership since that other time, I figured that was worth mentioning. Got “The Wall Street” which was a dog with brown mustard, chili, and raw onion. The dog was good quality, the chili was very tasty and hearty. Zero to very little spiciness from the chili and there was plenty of it. The roll was nice and soft. Paid just over $4 for it.
I’ll be going back at some point to try some of the other dogs on the board, but this one Didn’t Suck!

Great hotdogs, unique different toppings and combinatios. Very good milkshake. I enjoyed them all. Can’t wait to try more that I haven’t had. You definitely have to go check them out.

We had the wall street lunch special as opposed to buying each of the items separately which would be a tad high priced. The hot dogs come with meat sauce topping with real and generous amount of chili meat (as opposed to other establishments that the sauce contains virtually no real meat), it was a homemade flavor and perfectly spiced with onions and mustard. Staff would ask us how everything was.

Finally had the chance to make it to Mad Dogs in Macungie. I’ve been wanting to go there for a long time and I’m sad to say I won’t be going back. As you can see from the picture, nothing looks that great. The toppings did not add anything special, and the bun was a basic grocery store bun that leaves much to be desired. You can even see the avocado looks rotten and they still served it.
From a place specializing in hot dogs, I would expect a lot more. While the selection is great, the quality is not. This place is over-priced and over-rated. No better than a high school football game hot dog for a buck.

Great place was my first time. They were very accommodating to what i wanted. I had been wanting to go for a while now. I’m glad I did. My son goes often. I love that they have a pre paid board for those who may want to have a meal but dont have money. This is great for teens!

I found this place from a tiktok by the guy who reviews places by the name of “didn’t suck.” I’m shocked, I didn’t know about this place, considering I was over this way every other week. Pictured below is the Blue Hawaii hot dog with teriyaki & and pineapple on it. While others might find pineapple on hotdogs strange and unusual. I have eaten burgers with pineapple on it, so I didn’t think anything weird about it. It is very sweet but loaded. It did take me quite a while to finish eating it. Also tried the Napoleon Dynamite, which took me secs to finish The cookies and cream milkshake was very good, not too thick. Just enough to be able to suck up the straw.
Mother and Son were super nice and welcoming. Definitely need to come back and try more hotdogs and maybe a burger too.

Great little place. Friendly people. Nice location. Good food and shakes. It is a bit expensive. $14.79 for 1 hotdogs and a shake. I don’t mind tho because it’s a little family owned business. But I couldn’t afford to take my entire family for dinner…..my kids would want 2 hot dogs each plus fries or Pierogies and a shake. It would easily cost me at least $70. So I will sneak off without them and enjoy a afternoon snack on occasion.
