I ordered the Beer Battered Fish Fry last night and unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations.
This is Western New York, where the fish fry competition is strong, so the bar is pretty high. The filet itself looked like a good size at first, but it ended up being mostly batter — probably 70–75% — with a very thin piece of fish inside. Once I peeled some of the excess batter away, the portion of actual fish was much smaller than it appeared.
The meal was also supposed to come with bread and butter, but that was missing from my order so I can’t comment on that.
I skipped the fries since the dinner includes coleslaw, potato salad, and pasta salad, but each of those came in very small containers (about the size of a Five Guys ketchup cup). Had I known the portions were that small, I probably would have kept the fries with the order.
For the sides:
The coleslaw (KFC-style) was actually pretty good.
The pasta salad was very flavorful.
The potato salad was a little too sweet for my taste.
Overall, I’ve had other food from Macy’s Place that I really enjoy, and I appreciate their creativity with the menu. However, the fish fry just didn’t meet the WNY standard, and it’s not something I’d order again.

I heard from a few people that they had good pizza. I was nervous because of the Google reviews being poor. But, on DoorDash the reviews are better. I thankfully had a great experience. I ordered a personal pizza with three types of veggies on top. Everything from the dough, to the sauce, and to the seasonings on top was very yummy. I look forward to ordering from here again. And the price was more than affordable, which is great in this day and age.

Ordered a large Dope boy pizza for around $30 and had it delivered by DoorDash. The pizza arrived burnt to a crisp (see the photos). It was not edible at all. I called Macy’s and they did nothing..said that they could not issue a refund and that I had to go through DoorDash because I bought it through there. I asked them how it’s DoorDash’s fault for them burning the entire pizza to a crisp, and they said it doesn’t matter and that they can’t give me a refund. Unacceptable.

We ordered a small chicken finger pizza and 20 wings (garlic parm) on Uber Eats, and they provided a 20% off promo code. It was only around $40! Great deal! Even for takeout, the wings were a good temperature and still crispy. The pizza was perfectly cooked with huge sliced chicken fingers as toppings. I would definitely say this place is a notch better than Franco’s! We will definitely order again.

Tried out Macy’s Place in Kenmore after only having positive experiences with the Cheektowaga location and left pretty disappointed. The personal pan pizza tasted good, but that’s about the only thing they got right. It looked messy, wasn’t sliced properly, and felt like no care was put into how it was served.
Customer service was pretty bad. She told us it would be a 45-minute wait, but it was ready in about 10–15 minutes and no one even let us know. It just sat there while we waited. Also, if you get a pre made single slice, don’t expect it to be warm they don’t reheat them, just hand it to you room temp without saying a word.
I only went to this location because it’s next to Fattey’s where I was hanging out, but I’ll stick to the Cheektowaga spot from now on. This one didn’t live up to the hype at all.

Friends mentioned checking out Macy’s pizza. Its my first time ordering and was surprised at how over cooked it was. Is that their style?

I ordered online for delivery through the website. Because they did not have drivers on a Friday night they used doordash to deliver. Doordash gave my $80 order to the wrong people. I called macys and they first tell me I have to contact doordash. Now if we are thinking critically I can’t contact doordash as I didnt place the order through doordash. I tell the woman on the phone this and she goes to get the manager. Apparently the manager is just a place holder because now they have to call the owner to ask what to do. 2 hours after my original order time I am offered the options of a refund or to have it remade and redelivered. I am hosting a party so I need to be able to feed my guest so I ask for it to be remade but simply would like the delivery fee and tip refunded. She tells me they can’t refund the delivery($5) because they would still be bringing it to me. I should preface this by saying I am an Expert in customer service and this is my profession. It is BEYOND me that an business ESPECIALLY one where I have easily spent 2K+ dollars this year alone would do NOTHING to apologize for a failure such as this. Didn’t offer a discount, a 2 liter, or really even an apology. Needless to say I ended up taking a full refund and I WILL NOT be back. I know that any business who would treat a customer with such disregard isn’t one that I want to be eating from to begin with. Take this as a warning ⚠️ on top of the hit or miss food Macy’s in Kenmore has some of the WORST customer service i have ever experienced in Buffalo. I have gotten better service at burger king and Mighty Taco. They should spend a little less time experimenting with the menu and more time training their front of house on customer service and professionalism.
Edit: The resturant did reach out to rectify the situation. While I dont think I’ll eat here again I appreciate their intent to make things right and hope this can be a teachable moment.

Ive given three separate chances and all three times I’ve ordered pizza well done for it to arrive so undercooked that you can’t pick a slice up. The other location is great. This location needs to do better.
