Excellent Bbq restaurant with large assortment of delicious sides , deserts and coctails including blood marys, mimosas, margaritas, beer, wine, and other popular cocktails. Fair prices and large portions . My only suggestion would be to offer smaller size sampler meat platters like pick 2 or pick 3 and pick 2 sides. Other than that this place meets all of my criteria for a 5 star bbq

Ive stopped at Mac’s a few times driving though the Charlotte area and always enjoy it. Food has always been excellent and the menu is broad enough to give options. Most recently had a really good burgers then washed it down with a beer and a few wings. Nothing disappointed on this visit.

The food here was amazing! We stopped here on our trip to Charlotte for the Panthers-Bills game, and it did not disappoint! Best fried pickles we’ve ever had. Great chicken and waffles. Mac and cheese to die for! Drinks were refreshing! Also tried all four of their sauces, and they were fantastic! This place had dog-friendly outside seating which was also great for our group. Next time I make it down here, I’ll want to stop by! This was a very affordable place too for our group size!

Visiting Charlotte for the weekend and picked Mac’s on a whim for dinner. Everything from the food to the service was A-1. We ordered the Smoked Wings with the carolina bbq and pineapple vtx sauces on the side, the Down South Rolls to start. Both were SO good and perfect char on the wings. For entrees we choose the NC Western Burger, MacGleezy Dog, and the Shrimp platter. All three entrees were made perfectly and the fries seasoned well; didn’t even need ketchup! Also, they have a pretty extensive list of beers on tap and in cans. Our server, Taylor, was wonderful and super attentive. Definitely recommend stopping by here to get some great eats.

Honestly one of the worst BBQ experiences I’ve had in North Carolina.
I spent about $40 here, and for what I got, the price is wild. Some items were okay, but overall this place is overpriced and not worth it.
Mac & Cheese:
Stiff. Dry. Blocky. Barely cheesy.
It had no creaminess, no pull, no flavor just a hard block of noodles.
Pointless side. Easily one of the worst mac & cheeses I’ve had at a BBQ spot.
Mashed Potatoes:
Thick, pasty, and bland.
Not fluffy. Not creamy. No seasoning.
Just a heavy scoop with no taste whatsoever.
Chicken:
The chicken was decent.
Not amazing, not terrible just regular chicken.
But for the price they charge, it should’ve been much better. Definitely not worth the cost.
Burnt Ends:
Not good AT ALL.
Chewy, tough, and honestly tasted overcooked.
The sauce wasn’t enough to save the texture. These were the biggest disappointment on the plate.
Bread:
Just a plain slice thrown in the box. No effort.
Final Verdict:
Overall, this meal was not worth the money.
If you want REAL NC BBQ, go to The Smoke Pit better quality, better prices, better flavor, better everything. Tell them JJ sent you.

High top in the bar area w the garage doors open and bonfire outside is perfect for a fall evening. Pulled pork and shrimp were both good, shrimp was a bit overcooked. All the sauces went great w the pork. Alabama white and cocktail sauce complement the shrimp. Sides all came out great – Mac and cheese, fried okra, fries. I didn’t get my pickles but tried someone else’s and they had excellent flavor and texture. Good amount of parking which is rare in this area so very convenient.

The pulled pork sandwich, with slaw on the top. Was to die for. There’s nothing like southern barbecue. This place is a hit. The atmosphere was awesome. The service was awesome. I’ll remember Mac’s Speed Shop.

Came here for the first time. I love the feel of the place as you walk in. I ordered the BBQ Chicken with greens and pork beans. Everything was delicious. Chicken was tender and moist. I wanted to order everything on the menu! Everything looked so goood! But theres always next time.

After visiting the aviation museum, we decided to come here. We were pleasantly surprised by the lack of a wait. The ambiance was beautifully eclectic and tasteful. The food was absolutely wonderful! Our only concern was the temperature; everything appeared to be at room temperature rather than warm.
