The bartender (didn’t catch her name) was phenomenal! She made a really good Bloody Mary for just $3 (Sunday Special), and the food was great across the board (I had the gyro). She was very personable and had a great handle on the place. The bar itself is a cool, lowkey kind of dive, which was exactly what we were looking for.

Stopped by with a friend to grab a drink and burger in celebration of a work accomplishment, only to promptly be denied service due to my out-of-state driver’s license. I don’t blame the bartender, I’ve worked as a bartender myself for several years and understand it’s better to play it safe than sorry when you’re unsure, it just sucked in the moment. We’d driven 30 minutes out of our way to check out this bar specifically on a friend’s recommendation, and were super excited. Once denied, the bartender offered no explanation other than that he could not accept a Texas ID – he wouldn’t scan it, quiz me, nothing. We left feeling dejected, and honestly like he just didn’t want us there point blank (I’m nearly 24, and this was the very first time my ID has ever been rejected). So while I’m sure this place could have been great, if you’re in your mid-twenties and out-of-state I’d just stay away.

My friend and I took our 4 kids utving from Lake Delton and ended up in Merrimac. The service was great and they let our 4 kids play pool while we had a late lunch. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a great experience!

We were there for a ski weekend. Stones throw from our Ab&b. First night had a great time at the friendly small town local bar. The second night sampled the food and experienced a great time closing down the bar with the awesome staff and locals. It’s definitely a place to revisit.
