We were recommended to visit from a mutual friend of the owner and I had never heard of this place before, but SO glad that I took him up on the recommendation! We happened to come on a evening that the Singer and Songwriters guild was holding an open mic night. While the actual music ranged from not too good to pretty decent, the real star of the show was the food and drinks! The food was AMAZING and the bar also had quite a number of beers from a tap takeover from a Sojourn Fermentory, which ranged from light to dark and all delicious. This restaurant (venue) is small but cozy. There is a lot of seating packed into this small place but mostly 3 – 4 person high-top tables with some hybrid booths and seating around the perimeter. The owner is extremely welcoming and as attentive as he can be (given that he is running most or all of the services himself including the bar). We will certainly be going back again and welcome you to check there information for what musicians will be there as they try to have music most of the time.

I spent an evening with family/friends and honestly wish I’d found it sooner. It’s such an awesome spot for live music… the night I went, I caught three different acts, including a full band, and every performance was a blast. It’s great to see how connected this place is to their community… they’re always hosting events that give back or bring people together. You can tell they truly care, that vibe makes the place feel warm and welcoming the second you walk in. Got to chatting with the owner who clearly takes pride in his business and his community! Staff was friendly and in good spirits, always a great sign of a well run establishment in my book!
Otherwise, the food/drink was delicious. Didn’t hear a single negative remark! They’ve got everything from cocktails to beers. Looks like they’re also setup to have live sports games on the TVs, really accommodating/versatile venue.
Easy garage parking, short walk, central to shops.
All around, I had an amazing time. Great music, great people, great food and drinks. I’ll definitely be back!

Everything about this place is so welcoming and wonderful! It’s my first time here and it is an absolute pleasure meeting Josh the bartender. I ordered a Pisco Sour to start with and there is an extensive cocktail list that I’m looking forward to trying. I highly recommend this place if you’re in Fairfax City. Larry, the Head Cocktail Shaker, is a must see too!

• The Food: Every dish we ordered was a hit. You can tell they use high-quality, fresh ingredients. The flavors are well-balanced, and the presentation is beautiful. (The cocktails are also top-tier!)

My go-to spot in Fairfax! A great neighborhood place with a truly personal feel. The team is awesome (shoutout to Josh), the food and cocktails are excellent, and the outdoor seating is perfect in nice weather — a very dog-friendly patio is a huge plus.

The food is exceptionally well done. The dishes are largley comfort food in nature and so much care is put into every plate. When we asked for a burger to be without tomato for allergy reasons, the fries were served without ketchup. That attention to detail is so considerate and reflective of a kitchen that really knows what it’s doing. The regular live music is also a treat. 5 stars well earned.

Fine little place. Came here right after opening so it was pretty quiet and service still felt like it was getting going.
Food was fine, pretty standard fair, nothing mind blowing but nothing bad either. The interior is pretty dark though, sat by the windows and it was still a bit dreary inside.
The one bright point was the cocktails, an interesting selection and mine was pretty good.

So much fun! Mackenzie’s Tunes & Tonics has amazing live music, great drinks, and such a good vibe. The cocktails were delicious (and cute ), and the staff was super friendly. Perfect spot for a girls’ night out or just vibing to good tunes with friends. Can’t wait to go back! ✨

I went here as part of a food tour in Fairfax and LET ME TELL YOU!!!!! The atmosphere was amazing. The food was delectable and the customer service was on point. We sat down and the waiter came right to us with water and silverware. We waited for all of 10 minutes or so to receive or meal of bulgogi covered tots, brussel sprouts and dumplings. Yummy to the last bite! All I can say is 5/5 and I’ll be back!
